Horse race
🏇 Second Breakfast
🏇 Bearer of the Curse
🏇 Ronnie’s Delight
🏇 Clown Car
🏇 Goldmary
🐎 Peepee’s Playhouse
🏇 Bacon Storm
AAAAAND WE’RE OFF!
Bearer of the Curse shoots out of the gate with an early lead like a bat out of hell!
Followed by Clown Car and Peepee’s Playhouse who are neck and neck despite the missing jockey! Incredible to see here, folks. The main pack is gaining on them so it’s still anyone’s game, even our beloved Goldmary who’s notorious for tripping up with slow starts at the gate.
Approaching the first turn it’s Bearer of the Curse keeping her lead with the competition struggling to keep up! Clown Car seems to have gotten psyched out by Peepee’s Playhouse’s wild lawless eyes and has begun to lag behind only for Second Breakfast to break from the pack and take up the challenge in shared second place!
With so many furlongs and 21 hours left to go we still can’t discount our slow and steadies at the back with Bacon Storm sizzling right in the middle, Goldmary finally closing some gaps and Ronnie’s Delight shrieking his head off right on her heels in last place! And always remember, It’s not over until it’s over!
And now, just under the sixteen hour mark, we're seeing Second Breakfast start to close that gap behind Bearer of the Curse! Will is be enough to take the lead? The nightbloggers will have to decide!
Meanwhile, Clown Car and Peepee's Playhouse continue to battle it out in the middle of the pack. The unfortunate Goldmary remains dead last, right alongside Ronnie's Delight. Bacon Storm is flying under the radar for now, but we're well prior to the halfway point and anything could happen in the next stretch!
Can Second Breakfast overtake our current leader? Will an underdog break out from the middle? Stay tuned to find out!
GOOD MORNING RACING FANS!
With the last stretch approaching, the crowds cheering is near deafening out here today!
With just 4 hours to go, our horses are still keeping near exact pacing from our last broadcast with the exciting exception of Second Breakfast gradually gaining on Bearer of the Curse! One last sprint from either of these spirited animals could push them to widen or close the gap!
With fan support in a fever pitch for every horse we still can’t discount a last minute upset, with Peepee’s Playhouse taking on a concrete third with ClownCar hot on his heels. Bacon Storm has lagged behind but not nearly as far as Goldmary (it’s her last race, folks!) and Ronnie’s Delight who are sharing last place.
THUNDERING TO THE FINISH LINE IT’S BEARER OF THE CURSE, HAVING KEPT HER LEAD THE WHOLE RACE. FOLLOWED IN SECOND PLACE BY SECOND BREAKFAST AND PEEPEE’S PLAYHOUSE STEALING THIRD! What an incredible race today! The crowds enthusiasm has really made the whole event even more special! None of these amazing animals could have made it without the support of an equally amazing audience rooting for every horse just as passionately no matter the odds.
We asked Curse’s owner for a quote and could only get an ominous howl of the wind. Elusive as always!
I am, if nothing else, a slut for The Implications
You want to create a series primed for optimal transformative work? Leave the most burning questions unanswered but drop just one or two really disconcerting stray bits of dialogue. Make the setting campy with just a few Troubling Coincidences no one fully addresses. Let the audience catch a few worms but keep a forest of barren hooks looming ominously in the distance. Give the fans a sandbox and fill it with landmines.
I'm not a gatekeeper so yall. the best thrift stores are the ones that look bad. do not go to cool trendy thrift stores with hot alt twenty-something employees. (I mean you can if you want but enjoy paying $40 for a fuckass shirt.)
here's what you actually want in a thrift store:
in a rich town
run by a church
staffed exclusively by little old ladies
most of the clothes will be butt ugly. but they will also be 1) good quality and 2) cheap af. the 70 year olds running the shop think a thrifted shirt should be $3 and they are correct. everyone else shopping there is over the age of 45 so you won't have to throat punch any depop resellers over a cunty little top. you will get hyped up by old ladies and if you frequent the same shop they may start trying to set you up with their grandkids. everyone wins and who knows their grandkids might be hot.
If it doesn't look like the Ark of the Covenant might be stashed in the back somewhere, don't waste my time.

Bandcamp’s new guidelines state that music and audio generated “wholly or in substantial part by AI” is not permitted and that it will not allow the use of AI tools to impersonate other artists or styles.
another win for bandcamp! and friendly reminder about Bandcamp Fridays, the first friday of every month, when the platform waives its fees so more money goes directly to the artists youre supporting, and often they run charity drives as well

A StatCan report examines gender-diverse workers’ economic outcomes for the first time.
Trans and non-binary people in Canada experience higher rates of poverty compared to their cisgender peers, according to a recent Statistics Canada report. Researchers used 2021 census data to compare the differences in poverty rates and earnings between cisgender and gender-diverse Canadians. The findings suggest a wage gap between non-binary and transgender workers when compared to their cisgender male coworkers.

The article also includes a graph of average yearly wage (adjusted for age) that I find interesting:
Cismen: $70 500
Trans men: $61 200
Nonbinary persons: $60 500
Ciswomen: $53 700
Trans women: $52 100
Additionally, I'd like to see unemployment rates divided this way, which the article doesn't cover.
