Unpopular opinion I fear but I think Gabin would end up in New York with Tobias. I think that the two big things that Tobias got from his time in Paris were 1.) an experience with failure that forced him to grow and adapt, and 2.) everything he learned from his relationship with Gabin. Paris offered him a shift of perspective and impacted him deeply but that doesn’t feel like a place he would permanently stay, it feels like lessons and experiences he would take back to his work in New York.

On the flip side, Gabin at the beginning of the show was begging Genevieve to send him to New York. Gabin’s big struggle is fighting for the spotlight when he is continuously pushed to the back. He doesn’t feel like the National is utilizing his skill or pushing him enough, and I think that’s what he finally found with Tobias. I think the challenge of going to New York and the opportunities that would open up for him would be something he’d really enjoy.

Even then, regardless of the setting, I think Tobias and Gabin’s relationship largely impacts and drives both of them to their own greatest potentials, so it doesn’t matter where they end up.
