Big fan of Hua Cheng being told he was destined to die, be miserable, and bring misfortune. Still, Xie Lian believed in him, and that was enough for him to subvert fate itself and not only become a powerful ghost with nothing but luck, who gives ghosts homes and stability instead of ruin, but because he literally found Xie Lian again and tied the red string of fate around his finger himself. He really said that fate and luck mean nothing to me; they can’t affect me because your belief is enough. Like, yeah, he believes Xie Lian is his god, but that’s only because Xie Lian believes in him too.

ok i was reading the tgcf extras and highlighted a mention of hua cheng turning his food into a smiley face (because he did the same thing in the black water arc iirc) and correct me if im wrong but throughout all the books .. its like hua cheng never really eats food that wasnt prepared by or from xie lian??
