In 2012, Tom Hiddleston wrote a letter to Journey into Mystery author Kieron Gillen. The note was published, as seen below, alongside other fan letters at the end of the graphic novel.

Gillen’s Journey into Mystery is definitely worth a read, so be sure to check it out when you have the chance.  Be aware this is a reincarnated young version of Loki (there are some books you can read first if you want the whole story). Don’t let any of that that deter you, however, it’s so good!  I think Tom’s letter says it all really.

Can we talk about Thor calling Loki a genius when he met the Guardians?

They were talking about how they could get the Aether / reality stone and Thor explained someone (Lady Sif and Volstagg) had the order to bring it from Asgard to the Collector. I don’t know who but someone from the Guardians said that one was an idiot for doing it and Thor responded „Or a genius“ - knowing that it was actually Loki disguised as Odin.
