So I post on my blog when I am truly inspired and no artist truly inspires me more than perhaps the GOAT UK Bass music producer, Wookie! Here is an instrumental mix of music from one of the most underrated musicians this country has ever produced. The Beatles, Queen, Bowie - Wookie should be mentioned with all those names, I can't think of anyone, (maybe perhaps Arctic Monkeys or Bowie) who have managed to stay so relevant in music even to this day. I listen to Wookie and I'm in awe at how his old productions somehow sound classic but sooo current, and how his new stuff is on par, if not elevates anything coming out from the likes of Shift K3Y, Disclosure and Route 94! Some of his basslines are so dark and dirty that I have no doubt, the likes of Loefah, Hatcha and Magnetic Man were inspired and when this man produces house music, that uplifting vibe he pioneered resonates around all the house tracks produced by UK artists today. So The Yellow Londoner is saying he really hopes Wookie gets a number one sooner or later and blows up like Rudimental or Sam Smith because if you're anyone who has listened or been involved in the UK Bass scene for the last two and a half decades, I'm sure his current and past contemporaries will agree with me that there is no one in the industry who deserves it more. New UK Bassheads out there, educate yourself and be mesmerised!
EDM IS SHIT
Just having a quick rant: whenever people lump in any UK Bass genre with EDM, it irritates the heck out of me. One genre you have intricacies, and deep and soulful bass lines, the other genre you have screeching noises and midfrequencie in your face "bass" (ironic any sounds in the midfrequencies is considered bass) drops. I don't think you can have sounds more different than that.
