Jacob Frye ‘moods’
Anonymously ask me "Would you..?"
I have not met a single person who doesn’t like 40 year old jacob frye. What’s not to like he’s hot and clearly grown up mentally (watch the comments be nah I don’t like him) 😭😭
“…(He’s) clearly grown up mentally.”
And THIS is one of the biggest reasons why not getting the chance to play as Jacob or at least see more cutscenes with him in the JTR DLC is SUCH a missed opportunity, because in the little bit of screentime he DID get, we saw that at some point within those twenty years after the events of the main game, Jacob did FINALLY grow up and start to take being an Assassin more seriously, beyond “I’ll be out killing Templars”.
The fact that I’ve even seen/heard people who don’t like Jacob in the main game say that they like him in the DLC is a testimony in it of itself, and makes me think that if we got to spend more time with 40-year-old!Jacob and see more of how he was when he was older, he probably wouldn’t get the amount of hate he does.
“I’ve always thought of myself as a gang leader. Firm, but fair. We’ll have uniforms, and I’ll unite a mix of disenfranchised outsiders under one name. […] We’ll call ourselves the Rooks.” ― Jacob Frye, February 1868
Hey do you still rp or want to rp with new people?
It’s been ages since I last roleplayed, but sure, I’m open to do it again!
Are they any rules? I’ve been going through your blog to find them and I have yet to see them.
You can find them here.
They’re quite old, but I’m happy to answer any questions!
I’m afraid that only leads me to the top of your page. Could we discuss this in dms? Mine should be open.
It seems to do that on mobile, for some reason.
Sure! Sounds like a better option.

Oi! Get back here with that… Prime Minister!
How would Jacob react when his love always asks his opinions on everything, remembers the most frivolous details about him? When Evie interrups Jacob whenever he presents his ideas they say “Evie please let him speak. I’m sorry Jacob what were you saying?” They listen his ideas and prefer his methods. Whenever he makes a mistake they just asssure him that everything is fine. Jacob was under Evie’s shadow for the most of his life. Now she’s literally standing here and she’s not a priority? He is?
Well, to start things off on a positive note, when it comes to Jacob's partner remembering the little details about him and taking the time to at least listen to his ideas, I think he would be seriously flattered and really appreciate that. :)
Moving on to the rest, I think he would appreciate being asked his opinion on things, but I think he also would prefer to have a partner with a mind of their own and doesn't feel the need to ask for Jacob's opinion on everything. Also, I'm not sure if the notion of his partner preferring Jacob's methods of doing things all the time and being all "It's okay, Jacob. It was just a mistake" whenever he's done something he needs to take responsibility for is exactly a good thing, because as we all have seen from the game, Jacob has come up with some reckless and frankly, pretty idiotic ways of going about some things.
Basically: good intentions, poor execution.
For some minor mistakes, sure, Jacob doesn't need to be beaten down into the ground for those, and should be reminded that everyone messes up from time to time, but for the larger ones that have caused a new batch of trouble in place of the old batch? Even if things eventually did sort out, he still needs to be held accountable. (Call me brutal, but I'm just being honest here. Everyone who's seen this blog knows I adore Jacob; he has a lot of good things going for him. However some of his rash and ill-thought through actions cannot and should not be ignored.)
Which brings me to my next point: Evie is not the bad guy.
Sure, her constant need to reprimand Jacob in an overdone and unnecessary manner is irritating at times, but she has brought up some good points about how some of Jacob's actions effect more than just himself or what he's focusing on. This is the entire city of London we're talking about here, with people who depend on certain elements of it - whether anyone wants to admit it or not. The intention and point of liberating the city is so those elements and essentials that people need can be obtained and secured, without a singular corrupt and selfish force controlling those resources to a point of oppression. (Which is also a further point why both the more moderate Assassins and Templars bring up good points on both sides of the argument. You need a balance of freedom and order. But I'm getting way too off topic, so I'll leave it at that.)
Again, I fear I've gotten too lengthy and rambly with this post, so I'll close here. But I do hope I've understood your question correctly. To sum it up, Jacob would definitely appreciate someone who's on his side more often than not, and who's willing to gently try and convince Evie to at least hear her brother out, but I think he also would appreciate someone who isn't afraid to say, "Jacob, I see what you're saying, but perhaps a different method would better work for what you're trying to achieve", because the most important thing is any relationship, romantic or platonic, is honesty - and I think Jacob would appreciate that, more than anything else.
Jacob: On a scale of 1 - 10, how mad are you at me?
Evie: 8
Jacob: I can do better than that.

the whump fan’s dilemma
the notes on this post really do paint a picture of the psychology of fans, don’t they
You know, if you’re thinking about sending someone a nice message and you’re unsure because you’re shy or whatever, just do it anyway. This world lacks so much kindness, and I see people all the time talking about why receiving a sweet message was the highlight of their day. If you have the ability to literally make someone’s day by taking a moment to say a few nice words like, just do it.
Who is the person that Jacob hates the most? And why?
Maxwell Roth.
Here me out.
I could say Pearl Attaway, because she also used Jacob as a way to get what she wanted, but Jacob had always been adverse to that; he wasn’t emotionally invested in the tasks in the same way.
Maxwell Roth played Jacob like a fiddle. He manipulated him and used him and betrayed his trust, to an astronomical extent as compared to Attaway. There is no greater pain than someone you thought you knew doing something that you felt was so morally wrong, and seeing them not care.
There was a pretence of mischief, and Roth didn’t care who or what got in the way.
Jacob Frye hated this.
Blowing up the factory with the knowledge that children were in it was Jacob’s realisation that this man is his complete opposite and therefore worst enemy.
The only thing that they had in common was chaos.
Jacob is chaotic good.
Roth is chaotic evil.
They don’t match.
That feeling of betrayal— for both of them, to be honest — broke their entire relationship. Roth also seemed to be a “yandere” character; he was frankly obsessed with Jacob and the game they were playing.
This is why I don’t ship RothFrye — Any hints of romantic attraction had completely disbanded by the time of the factory because Jacob doesn’t find killing civilians for entertainment attractive! I’m sure there probably was in the beginning, when Roth was buttering him up like a crumpet, but seeing Roth for who he truly was— a manic psychopath.
So, the kiss when Roth is dying has much debate, so here’s how I see it — the disgust on Jacob’s face was not the fact that a man kissed him. It could be because he had internalised homophobia with himself because he liked it (or at least didn’t hate it), or the more probable one in my eyes…
What kind of a person was he, if someone like Roth loved him?
(That, and obviously he didn’t consent soo…)
THIS!!! ALL OF THIS!!!!!
