zalfie prompt - zalfie breaking up?? ik it's sad but i like reading them
“Admit you’re cheating on me.”
Zoe blinks in astonishment, unable to comprehend the words that just fell from her boyfriends mouth. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
“Are you joking me right now?”
Alfie crosses his arms across his heaving chest. His eyes are damp, his cheeks red, and his stance firm. He looks Zoe in the eye and doesn’t blink as he waits for the bullet to strike him dead.
They’ve been fighting for over an hour now. Screaming and yelling at each other so loudly that Zoe wouldn’t be surprised if the neighbours called the police to report a disturbance next door. She doesn’t know what had gotten into Alfie until now. He came home from his office and was in an off mood, and Zoe had been working on her new book all day too so her mood wasn’t the brightest either, and somewhere along the way they butt heads. She didn’t expect Alfie to change the subject from a common domestic to something about their relationship. They were fine up until today. He hasn’t been acting up around her and creating distance between them. Why is this all of a sudden? He accused her of so many things in the past hour, as did she, no doubt - but this. Cheating? That’s beyond the line.
“If the shoe fits.” Alfie growls through his clenched jaw.
Zoe couldn’t even look at him. She turned away and paced a moment, incapable of believing that Alfie truly believes - after 4 years of a relationship - that she’s cheating on him.
“You’re mad, Alfie. You’re actually insane.”
“I don’t hear you denying it.”
“I’m not cheating on you!” She screamed, voice cracking due to the previous yelling. She wiped hurriedly under her eyes when she sees that Alfie doesn’t believe her. He shook his head and ran his hands through his hair.
“How could you lie to me?” His voice wavered. “I know you are!”
“With what proof!?” She defended, pushing her arms out to gesture around their kitchen. “There’s nothing you have on me because i’m not cheating on you! What gives you the idea that-”
“Mark.”
She stopped. “What?”
“Mark Ferris. I knew it was him.” Alfie walked over to the counter and leaned on it, rubbing a hand down his hot face. “I see the way you guys talk to each other, how you’re always more playful around him compared to me. So … touchy. Everything’s just better with him. Even your youtube videos.” He paused. “I can see it.”
Zoe shook her head. “What you see is a figment of your imagination! You’re making up something that isn’t there.”
“You’re a liar!” He screamed suddenly, his tone so intense it made Zoe genuinely scared. She’s never heard him yell like that before, and the fact that it’s at her makes it even worse.
“I’m not a liar!” She yelled at the top of her lungs.
“I’ve dedicated four years to you! I’ve had plenty of other women come after me on the street and I never even gave them a second glance because I knew I was always coming home to you. How could you do this to me!?”
“I haven’t done anything, Alf!” Tears are spilling from her eyes again but she doesn’t wipe them.
“Whatever, I’m done with this.” He pushed off from the ledge he’d been leaning on and Zoe thinks - for a slight second - that he’s going to hurt her, but instead he pushes past her to go to the front door. Her heart drops she rushes after him, begging him to stop when he slid on his shoes and grabbed his car keys from the bowl.
“Alfie, don’t do this.” She pleas. “Let’s talk about this. You’re just having a bad day. I’m not cheating on you!” She grabbed his arm while his other one opens the front door.
Alfie shakes her grip off of him. “We’re over.” He says, and leaves the house with the slam of the front door.
ooooooouuu can i zalfie prompt? :) just something really fluffy and cute with Alfie giving Zoe lots and lots of kisses please!
“Zoe, can I have a cuddle?”
Zoe looks up from the kitchen stove to where Alfie sits at the dinner table, his arms spread wide open in her direction. She laughs lightly at the adorable look on his face but shakes her head, turning her attention back to the pot of boiling water. “No, not now.”
Alfie drops his arms to the table in defeat, a pout forming on his lips. “What? Why?”
“Because i’m cooking,” she says obviously. She picks up a bag of pasta noodles and dumps them into the pot then stirs.
“So? Just a quick cuddle.” Alfie pleads, raising his arms again.
Zoe doesn’t even look at him. She just shakes her head again. “No, because you say it’ll be just a quick one but we both know that that’s a lie.”
Alfie crosses his arms, looking offended. “Not true!”
“Not true!?” Zoe repeats, slamming the wooden spoon down on the table, making Alfie jump. She turns around and puts her hands on her hips, trying to look menacing. “Are you joking me? How many times have you made me late for something because you just wanted a ‘quick’ cuddle?” She raises her eyebrows at him.
Alfie innocently shrugs. “Well, it’s not like you’ve ever said no.”
“Well i’m saying no now.” She says, turning her back to him. “Maybe after dinner.”
Alfie pouts again. He wanted a cuddle now, not later. It wouldn’t be the same if he had a cuddle after he was full from pasta because then he’d feel bloated and wouldn’t enjoy it as much. He wasn’t taking no for an answer.
He stands from the table and walks over to Zoe, who clearly didn’t want anything to do with him because she didn’t even flinch at his presence. He wraps his arms around her waist and presses his chest against her back, resting his head on her shoulder and nuzzling his nose into her neck.
At that, Zoe reacts. She giggles and tries to push him away as she stirs the pot but the combination was not working. “Alfie! Go away! After dinner I said.”
“No.” Alfie refuses, placing a few delicate kisses on her neck. Zoe squirms in his grasp and laughs when his kisses turn into ticklish nibbles on her skin. When she puts the spoon down on the counter, Alfie knows he’s got her.
He spins her around his arms and pins her against the counter. He refuse to let go of his grasp on her, tightening his arms around her waist while he showers her with kisses. He moves up to her cheek and presses kisses there and on her forehead and her nose. Zoe’s giggling nonstop in his arms.
“Alfie,” she wines. “I’m going to burn the pasta!”
“That’s ok,” he says, pulling back to give her a smile. “You’re pasta sucks anyways.”
Zoe gasps and drops her jaw in disbelief. Alfie just laughs at her and leans in to kiss the fake shook away from her face. Zoe kisses back lightly and brings one hand up to cup Alfie’s face. Alfie takes that as motivation to kiss harder so he does, bringing Zoe’s body flush against his. She tries not to laugh but some giggles tumble from her lips anyways.
When they pull apart, Alfie is looking smug as ever and Zoe is blushing.
“I hate you, Alfie Deyes.” She says in a teasing tone, leaning on her tiptoes to kiss him on the lips again.
Alfie shrugs. “That’s alright. I hate your pasta.”
zalfie prompt - they get in a fight and alfie leaves to calm down at the beach & zoe tries to find him
It was cold and dark.
Alfie huddled his knee’s closer to his chest and pulled his sweater tighter around him to keep warm. He didn’t think to bring a warmer sweater when he stormed out of Zoe’s apartment hours ago. In fact, he wasn’t thinking anything when he did. His mind was racing with anger and rage and the only solution that was comforting enough to settle him down was to go to the beach to watch the waves. He enjoyed seeing the sea. The smell, the sound, the view, and the feel of the rocks beneath him created a calming atmosphere where he could think properly.
Except, tonight wasn’t one of those nights. It was nearing two in the morning and the beach was pitch black so he couldn’t see the water, there was a fish smell lingering in the air, and it was cold. Really cold.
He wishes he had the guts to go back to Zoe’s apartment and warm up under one of her massive wool blankets, but after the scene he just caused - and the fact that he walked out while Zoe was begging him to not go - he feels like it’d be best for him to ring up one of his friends and ask to stay with them for night. But then he remembers that he left his phone on the counter in the kitchen, so that option was out of question.
Groaning loudly about the mess he has caused tonight, Alfie raises his head to the sky and shuts his eyes. How he got himself into this mess, he’ll never understand. He regrets everything he said to Zoe. They two of them have never fought like this before and it scares him to think that maybe he buggered up their relationship for good. He doesn’t even remember what they were yelling about. One thing lead to another and things got out of hand. He didn’t even feel angry anymore. Only sad and upset and regretful. Maybe this is what things feel like at the end of a relationship. Maybe this was the universe telling him that his time with Zoe is coming to an end. Maybe -
“Alfie?”
It was Zoe’s voice.
Startled, Alfie opens his eyes and jerks his head to his left where he heard her faint voice. No doubt, it was Zoe, clad in one of his oversized red hoodies, a wool hat, and matching wool mittens. She looked absolutely adorable in her little ensemble but now wasn’t the time to think about that.
“Zoe,” Alfie says, standing up from the rocks as she approaches. He wants to so badly reach out and hug her - touch her even - but then he spots her smudged mascara and puffy red eyes. He swallows thickly, knowing damn well that he was the cause for those tears.
“Are you stupid or something?” Zoe accuses, crossing her arms tightly around her chest. “It’s bloody freezing out and you didn’t even bring a jacket. You are honestly so dumb, Alfie Deyes!”
Alfie raises an eyebrow. “What?” He asks, trying to make sense of her sudden behaviour.
“It’s 2am in the bloody morning! You’re going to catch a cold out here wearing nothing but that stupid sweater. I swear to god I feel like your mother half the time. Come on, let’s get you warmed up.” She takes Alfie’s arm and links it with hers. She begins pulling him along off the beach and in the direction of her flat. Alfie doesn’t stop her but does give her a very confused look.
“What are you doing?” He asks.
“Taking you home.” She answers flatly, refusing to look at him.
“You’re not still mad?”
“Oh no, i’m still mad.” She deadpans.
“But then why are you here?”
Zoe brings them to a stop in the middle of the sidewalk. They are stood under one of the street lamps and Alfie can get a clear view of Zoe’s face now. Her cheeks are as red as her eyes, her eye makeup is smeared around the corners, and her mouth was pressed in a firm line across her face. There was nothing but animosity.
It made him feel even worse.
“Because, Alf, you stormed out of my bloody apartment!” She exclaims. “I thought you were going to wonder the streets and get hit by a car or something in your state.”
“So you came looking for me?”
“Yeah, and it wasn’t easy.” She huffs. “I’ve been walking around for the past half hour looking for you in this cold. I can’t feel my fingers or my toes. So let’s go home so I can-”
Zoe tugs on his sleeve to get him moving again but Alfie doesn’t budge. “Hold on,” he raises a hand. “So, you’re still mad about our fight but you came out to find me anyways?”
Zoe looks at him like he’s completely stupid. “Obviously.”
“But ...” He looks to his feet, guilt washing over him. “I made you cry.”
It’s silent for a moment. Then, Zoe walks up to him and tilts his chin up with her finger. There’s a small smile on her face. “I’m not crying now.”
“But you were.”
“But i’m not anymore.” She moves her hand to cup his cheek and rubs his stubble with her thumb soothingly. “One thing you need to understand about relationships, Alfie, is that they have their ups and downs. We’re probably going to have many more fights in our life. Maybe not to this extent, but still fights. And the trick to them is still staying with the other person after the yelling and screaming is over.”
She her words are so genuine and she looks so hopeful with what she’s said that Alfie can’t help but mimic the smile she has on her face. He leans forwards and presses a linger kiss on her forehead.
“I don’t understand how you can still put up with me.”
