Wow!! A whole 10 posts. I'm on a roll.
KornZombieMoment-pocalypse
Growing up, I had that rebel phase. It wasn’t even really a rebel phase, per se, but more of a “I enjoy rock” kinda phase. I got into Korn. I started out with Life is Peachy in 96, followed by Follow the Leader in 98. I enjoyed every album, and really “socked it to the man” by playing it at volume 100 in my tiny bedroom in my parents house.
Fast forward to now. I’m old, (okay, 32, but who’s counting) and I’ve got a family. I don’t get crazy anymore. Crazy for me is when I stay up past 10pm. Anyyyyyyways. One warm night in early 2016, I had a brilliant idea. I happened to see that Korn was doing a tour with Rob Zombie and In This Moment. And they were coming to a nearby hood. And tickets were within my broke ass budget.
Omg.
I threw the idea to my main squeeze, M-dawg and his man BFF, G-man (who happens to be H’s main squeeze from none other than Thezebitches). They loved it. I asked H, and she was in. Tickets were bought. Children were heaved onto other caregivers. Plans were made. It was on. On. Like. Donkey. Kong.
The concert was at a now defunct outdoor amphitheater about 2 hours away at a peak traffic time. The four of us (me, H, M-dawg and G-man) left about 5 hours before the concert, gleefully happy and listening to a custom playlist, hoping that with traffic, we would be somewhat on time. Nope. We weren’t.
After fighting what felt like every vehicle in the good ole’ US of A on the road in traffic, we stopped for some grub at the nearby Wendy’s. We ate excitedly, and headed towards the venue. Keep Wendy’s in mind. It plays a big role in the evening.
We get to the venue, and park in our “premiere” parking. Heading to the entrance we notice the longest lines. Ever. We had our blankets ready- this was an outdoor venue after all- and we wanted in. That’s when our bubble was first burst- the cranky security person yelled at us that no blankets were allowed. Fine. Be that way. After running back to the car to put the blankets away, we continued to wait. Standing in one of the lines, we happen to notice a line for specific car owners- if you showed your keys, you got in faster. Sa-weeeeet. It just so happened that H and G-man have the car they were looking for. Heading to that line, we didn’t even need to show the keys- we were frisked and let right in. Looking back, that probably should have been our first clue.
Upon entry, we heard In This Moment playing their first song. We hurriedly got two drinks each, and trekked to our grassy knoll and got good seats. It was awesome!! We were sitting (key word here- sitting) amongst fellow music lovers, we had our drinks, and we really enjoyed the set. Up next was Rob Zombie, and I decided in between sets I was going to use the restrooms.
I calmly walk up the little hill we were sitting on, alone, and go to the restroom. It was still daylight outside- about dusk. There was a line, so it took me about 20 minutes. I heard Rob Zombie start up, and I wasn’t too concerned. I, myself, am not a huge Zombie fan- I was there for Korn and In This Moment so I wasn’t too upset I was missing the first song. After washing my hands, I calmly left the restroom and went to head back to our spot.
Do any of you remember the Watts Riots? I was young, but I sure remember the chaos. After walking back to the grassy knoll, it looked like the Watts Riots. It was dark. People were everywhere. Chaos ensued. There were three mosh pits happening. I didn’t know where everyone was. I couldn’t believe my fucking eyes. What the hell?!
I walked to where I thought everyone was. I was wrong. Instead, I was being pushed around by a man, and the group of shall we say angry white men with grudges against anyone with a tan that was next to me had a reallllll problem with it. They pulled me into their circle, and let the man pushing me know that it was unacceptable to be pushing a lady. In so many words.
I thanked them, got lost some more, and finally, H called me. Neither one of us could see over the crowds. I kept telling her I was by the mosh pit, but we were at the WRONG mosh pit. I gave up and went to higher ground- I mean that’s what you’re supposed to do in a disaster situation, right?? I’ve watched enough Dual Survivor to take a shot at surviving.
M-dawg called me, located me, and then led me through the apocalypse to our spot, which was now being taken over by someone lighting a shirt on FIRE and swinging it over his head. At that point, I think we all realized that help wasn’t coming, and we were only halfway through Zombie. Good. Lord.
Korn can be summed up like this. People were pushing and stomping other people. H socked a dude in the face because of it. Moshing was happening in the most chaotic way. I was smashed into a railing. G-man and M-dawg got into a fistfight (the guy lost) which consisted of M-dawg holding a guy in a headlock, G-man had his leg immobilized, and H had ripped a piece of his sweaty shirt off and was slapping him in the face with it. I stomped someone’s body part whilst yelling “I. JUST. WANTED. TO. WATCH. KORN!!!!” Probably not my finest moment. There was so much beer drunk amongst H, M-dawg, and G-man because some sucker kept buying them drinks. I watched a dude grab a girls cell phone and throw it like he was a third baseman for the Dodgers into the crowd below, knocking someone in the head. SO. MUCH. FIRE. I honestly thought a huge brush fire was going to start. There was not a moment of peace. It was literally survive or be stomped. Where was security, you ask?
Good question.
We left early, mostly because physically we couldn’t handle it, and also because of the crowds swarming the exit. In the bathroom on the way out there was a poor girl with a gash across her face. Chaos. It was at the exit that we noticed security and police. Umm. Yes, Mr Officer. You are certainly most helpful yards away from the surging crowd of angst and fury.
Sitting in the parking lot, waiting for the crowd to leave, we assess the situation. G-man has a torn shirt, we all have various injuries, but we all made it out alive. After about 45 minutes of waiting, we left. I drove, M-dawg was next to me, H was behind him, and G-man was behind me.
Remember I told you to remember Wendy’s? That’s because what happened next was what I affectionately refer to as “The Wendy’s Incident”. Not too long into our drive, G-man thought he had to burp. I had already asked if he wanted me to stop, because I could tell he was feeling the effects of the free beer train he had earlier. He said no, so when he burped, it wasn’t a burp. Projectile vomit landed on me, landed on my seat, in my hair, and started rolling down my back. This wasn’t any vomit. No. It was partially digested Spicy Chicken Cesar Salad and lots, and lots of beer.
I immediately pull off the freeway, not giving a shit that we are in the shadiest of shady areas. I pull into a Sevvie, and buy cleaning products and Febreeze.
While my car is being cleaned, it turns out that the 7-11 guy called the cops on us, cuz you know, were suspicious. They roll up, saying “oh you’re pretty far from (insert my anonymous town name here)”. Uh. Yeah. So I saunter up, and being the sweet talker I am, reassure them that it’s just vomit being cleaned from my car so vigorously and not blood, I’m not dealing drugs or murdering my friends, and they slowly, slowly drive away.
We ended up home, much later than anticipated. A year later, we still aren’t over this experience.
Guess what? Korn is coming back this year.

Softball. Let's talk softball. Okay, so I recently started a new job. This new job decided it would be really awesome to put together a co-ed team with the local parks and rec, significant others included. I thought to myself how much fun BF would have playing, as he's always saying how much he likes playing sports and doesn't do it enough. So I sign him up. Unbeknownst to him, I had no intention of joining. None whatsoever. If you know me, you know my sports consist of hand-foot coordinated things, like soccer and track. This bitch right here isn't cut out for softball. It's at this moment, that things took a sad, sad turn for the worse for me. My work panics. There's not enough women signed up!! Egads!! Gadzooks!! Zoinks!! Guess what that means? Nope- instead of saying fuck it, I guess BF and all the happy coworkers aren't playing, I do the unthinkable and sign up. For two reasons: I want a raise in October, and BF was sad I wasn't on the team. Anticipation for this was intense, folks. I'm not gonna lie. I don't want balls thrown at my face, and let's be real, the furthest I run is to the kitchen for a beer or a snack. Instead of practicing and getting in shape, I choose to pretend this isn't happening until the day of the game. The day of the game, I went and bought my shit. I walked into Big 5 and told the underpaid prepubescent kid what was up. That little shit outfitted me with a bat, a ball, and a glove. I felt like a rockstar buying this. I felt like whomever the most famous softball player is. I even picked a walkout song. Flash forward to two hours before the game. BF and I are at the field, practicing. Now, BF has played this sport once upon a time, so while he thinks he started out rusty, he didn't. It was magical. It was like watching a machine that hasn't been used in years wind up, with all the parts moving and pistons firing. I, on the other hand, was just trying to make sure the moneymaker wasn't damaged. Game time. My coworkers are there, and thankfully, nobody turned out to be an Olympian. (The team we were playing, however, took it seriously.) I ask for the path of least resistance and where does the captain or leader or president or whatever of the team stick me? Catcher. This turned out to not be so bad. I got to know the umpire and what he likes and what his wife hates. We started talking shit to the batters. I made every single one of those serious bitches laugh. We had a good time. Two days later? BF and I feel like we got smacked with Mack trucks. Here's what we realized: we live sedentary lifestyles. Then we get a brilliant idea to do something active, go all out balls to the wall, then pay for it a week straight. I can't even sit to pee comfortably. Moral of the story? I had a fun fucking time. I tried something new, I turned out to be a decent player, I hit the ball and made it to second. You will never know if you like something until you try. I tried, bonded with BF and some coworkers, and had a laugh or two. Stay tuned. We play every Friday, so you know some form of entertainment is happening weekly. Bets on how long it takes me to get hurt?
Guess what?! It’s Friday!!!! Okay. It’s really Fri-YAY!!!! The magical day of no more work, paydays, and parties. Oh, who am I kidding? I’m so excited to be in bed by 10pm and watching a movie (unless I’m playing Cards Against Humanity with H). However this post is just to say Happy Fri-yay to all you out there in Tumblr land, and to let you know that These B*tches is taking a slight turn to the left. Which is a good turn, I assure you.
What started out as two friends doing makeup reviews and shamelessly plugging our DS makeup company, has now turned into something more. In light of Schmoonique and Schmoonique 2.0, H and I have decided that DS just isn’t our thing- or at least with the Company-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. So, we decided to change it up. You’ll still get your makeup reviews (be on the lookout later today for a mascara review!) but you’ll also get:
-recipes you may or may not want to make -advice you may or may not want to receive -DIY projects that may or may not totally fail (#nailedit) -nature shit. Because.....Nature. -life shit -an occasional rant
….and so much more. So, Happy Fri-YAY, B*tches!!

Schmoonique Rant 2.0
What R said and more…
Not only did they mess up each of our back office accounts in different ways (causing R to actually disappear from my team completely), the main product ***the whole company is based off of*** rains particles in your eyes all day simultaneously stinging your inner lids when you wear it. Oh but don’t worry, it’s “all natural.” You might be wondering: why on Earth wouldn’t you try this before you get invested in this company? In short, you can’t. There are no samples for this “miracle mascara” and to outright purchase one tube is $32.00! This is one $32.00 tube of completely useless garbage. On good faith, I had thought that the main product ***an entire company was built from*** SPANNING MULTIPLE COUNTRIES, would live up to the expectations I had for it. Well, after linking a personal web address to my account plus the kit and taxes, I am out about $125.00. Oh! And the best part was we couldn’t work in tandem to sell this. Their company “doesn’t work like that.” So be fully prepared to push all your friends away on FB as you bombard them with your Schmoonique posts, party invites, and any other creative marketing scheme you think up for the shittest, glitteriest creampuff flakey eyeshadow ever! WHAT THE HELL AM I GOING TO DO WITH ALL THAT SHIT FOR BRAINS WASTE THAT THE KIT HAD? My options are either: 1.) Throw it away and not waste another minute worrying about this mistake. 2.) Send it back, knowing I will never get my investment returned. -OR- 3.) Paint two big eyes with all the kit rubbish on my buttcheeks, take a picture, and send it to the CEO, titled: “I finally figured out what to do with all your shitty excuse for makeup!!!” *DEEP SIGH*

Schmoonique
Alright. I have a rant. I’m calling out a company. A direct sales company. One that rhymes with Schmoonique.
Here’s the thing. I’d vaguely heard about it before, and when H brought the idea to learn more by me, I thought “why the hell not”. At that point in my life I needed more income, and I know H did too.
So, we met up with a local rep nearby, whom was familiar to us. It wasn’t a random person, so I felt comfortable with the knowledge I was receiving. The rep was super sweet, told us about it and how she markets herself. We left, and talked about it. Threw some ideas around and decided to go for it.
Splurging the $99, we anxiously awaited our “presenter kits”. Let me tell you. For the $99, I expected more. I’m not going to speak on the behalf of H, but I can tell you, the feelings are mutual. We received three full size products. Which, tbh, sucked. The samples were meh. But I gave it a good ole college try, even buying business cards. I haven’t even used one.
Here’s what they DON’T tell you. There’s mad rep competition. You better be GLUED to social media. You better be willing to wrap your car in advertising for your business. The kicker with that? Now your car is used for business purposes and your insurance goes up. Yeah, you could write that off at the end of the year. Well, most of it. But who the fuck has time for that? Or the startup cost? Not to mention, it’s hard to promote a product that you yourself do not believe in.
Yes, they tell you that you get out of it what you put into it. But for someone that isn’t immersed in social media, and for two people that don’t have a large social circle, advertising is hard. The part that pisses me off is that the rep competition is FIERCE. It’s hard to get even a close friend to buy a goddamn eyeliner from you and cheat on their rep. Now, an article just came out that their presenters kit changed with mostly full size products and better samples. Uh. Maybe you should have given ME that kit. Because all the advertising in the world isn’t going to help me, and I just keep getting more and more annoyed.

Black Magic Mascara end of day shots!!
Black Magic Mascara by Eyeko London
Alright. Let’s talk magic. Witchcraft. Voodoo. Tomfoolery. Or Black Magic Mascara to be exact. I got this mascara not that long ago in a subscription box. Don’t ask me which, because I subscribe to more services monthly than is honestly necessary. Pretty sure I pay more for shit to be sent to me than I do on my utility bills. Whatever.
You can buy this stuff online or in stores like Ulta, Saks, etc and the average price I’m seeing is around $24-$25 for an 8ml tube. The sample I am trying is 4ml, and it’s a pretty good size. It’s an odd tube, to be honest. It’s squishy. I keep thinking I am going to squeeze product out like a lip gloss or something. I’m not entirely sold on the package, because I feel like if something was to stab it forcefully in the depths of my makeup bag it would explode and Magic would be everywhere it wasn’t supposed to be.
The stuff is easy to apply. The package boasts “For after hours seduction our unique brush creates drama, volume and curl combined with an extreme Carbon Black water resistant finish”. Well I don’t know about all that noise. Let’s be real- the only claim that has held up any water is the carbon black. This shit is, in fact, black. However the drama, volume and curl has Criss Angel'ed itself out of the building. After curling with an eyelash curler, it held nicely for about 2 hours. It fell flat. I liked how it made them feathery, but to really get drama I tried 3 coats. Three. Three motherfucking coats and expected some Houdini shit. Black Magic, my ass. The other plus is that it didn’t flake off but honestly, the black isn’t black enough for me to keep using this at $25 a pop. I’ll go pick up some Better than Sex mascara for less money and be twice as happy. That unique brush? It’s a standard kidney bean shape I’ve seen in many mascaras- no distinctive features to really make that stand out. Removal was easy- came off with my makeup wipes. So much for water resistant.
It does claim to be enriched with keratin and shea butter for long term lash care. That’s nice but doesn’t help me look amaze balls NOW. Will I purchase this? Probably not.
Emoji rating today?? 🔮 Crystal balls. It’s somewhat magicky.

Here’s this bad boy on at the end of the day.... Check out the review below!!-R
Physicians Formula Argan Wear Eyeliner
Alright. The name of this is a mouthful- Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil Kohl Kajal Eyeliner. Seriously. Look on the website. I’m not making this stuff up. 11 words to name an eyeliner- that must mean this stuff is the shit, right??
I bought this on a whim, actually. I was in CVS killing time for my scripts to be filled, and I walked past the display of PF. Now, I’ve tried a few things in the past and have been moderately impressed, but as a self proclaimed Sephora junkie, it’s been awhile since I tried anything drugstore. (I’m not even kidding with the Sephora part. I’ve spent so much money there I’ve secured my VIB spot through 2017 and my SO is about ready to send me to Sephora Rehab.)
Now, the CVS price point was $16 and some change. However upon looking at the website for ingredient info I noticed that online it’s $9.99. Way to go, CVS.
Packaging was cute. The tassel on the cap is pointless, but cute as hell. I’ll admit to spending a solid minute in my car swirling it about. There isn’t a lot of product though for the size of the tube. You get 0.09oz for the money you just spent. It also only comes in one color- Ultra Black. But it’s a kohl liner, so what did you expect??
The one thing I like about the brand is that it’s gluten free, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, cruelty free, paraben free, dermatologist approved and apparently safe for sensitive eyes and contact wearers. I don’t wear contacts, so I’m assuming they aren’t lying here. There are other ingredients listed online, so check them out if you’re so inclined. This product also got some news mentions in various fashion articles. La-dee-dah.
Okay, the meat of this review. I used it mostly as instructed- to line your eyes AND use as an inner rim (waterline) liner. I already had liner on (different brand) but I did use on my upper and lower waterline.
It glides on smoothly, which if you’re applying at the waterline that’s what you’d hope for. Nothing worse than a rough wood pencil to the sensitive eye. I’m tearing up thinking about it. As far as wear, it did pretty good. It stayed on for a solid 5-6 hours without me needed a serious touch up. I will say that the liner in the outer corners of my eye bled a bit and I needed to wipe that away. But I’ve never found a liner that stayed there so maybe that’s just faulty oculars on my part. The black was very black, which I loved. Nothing I hate more than an ashy liner. Especially when it doesn’t match my already lined upper lid. My eyes also never reacted badly to this, so that was a plus. Again I don’t wear contacts, but I’m assuming if something was wonky my eyes out of anyone’s eyes would have been the first to swell fucking shut.
As far as removal goes… Well. I did my usual facial routine in the shower using my Argan Oil face wash and it did not come right off. Instead, it smeared everywhere and my SO said I looked like a raccoon. I thought I looked like I met Rhonda Rousey in an alley. Needless to say, I needed two more washings and a face wipe after the shower to remove. What that says about the longevity I don’t know, but I’d suggest some strong ass face wash to get this bad boy off.
In every review we will be giving a 5/5 emoji rating. Today’s emoji will be 👀, since we are yapping about eyeliner and all.
Packaging: 👀 👀 👀 Longevity: 👀 👀 👀 👀 Color/Formula: 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 Removal: 👀 👀 👀 Overall: 👀 👀 👀 👀.5
So there you have it, folks. If you’re in the market for an eyeliner that can hold its own from the drugstore, pick this one up. It got 4.5 eyeballs, which in my opinion, isn’t too shabby. I would probably buy this again. Overall it isn't a crappy product and I do love the nourishing effects it has. Photo to follow of the end of the day wear. I might do a comparison to another high end eyeliner I looooooove. Maybe. -R
Welcome to the Madness..
By George, I think I got it.
Good grief. After several “help” texts and some creative clicking of random buttons, I managed to set up our blog. What better way to kick it all off than with a “welcome” post, amirite?!
Who are we? We are childhood friends. Preschool days, to be exact. We’ve stayed friends this long for one reason, and one reason only- we tell it like it is. Okay, maybe that isn’t the only reason. But it’s the main one.
What is this blog about, you ask? We are here to review makeup. All makeup. High end, drugstore, even the Younique (shameless plug). We buy these products with our own hard earned doll-hairs and we will review it and tell you like it is. No fluff, no frills, and possibly some four letter words. Bottom line- you want the real story on the product you’re about to buy?? Read here.
Feel free to contact us at [email protected] for inquiries or if you want to see something specific.
Also, because it’s the Internet and there are the negative Nancy’s out there: if you don’t like this blog or us- do us all a favor- don’t f*cking read it. -R
