Bottom of a Sundog:

This estranged phenomenon occurs in the absolutely perfect conditions of frozen ice crystals and certain humidity environments, you also need to be airborne to see it close off in this tear drop pattern you see here. If you have ever seen ice pillars (if not look it up, they are quite mesmerizing) this is a similar effect but with the suns light as the main source to the rainbow. A Sundog actually has 4 total beams of light, not just the typical sides we see in sunset pictures, this is the bottom of one of them. This picture was taken on descent into DCA underneath the anvil of a dying storm, giving us this light sprinkling of frozen precipitation.
