Eugene Roe's reaction when S/O presents him with sketches she made of him
āØAuthor's Note: The brilliant sketches used for this piece were provided by the talented and legendary @thicccqueyoongimin to enhance the magical visual experience. If you haven't already, you should check out the other BoB masterpieces on the profileāØ
Your requests give me purpose, @lovelyd0gg š„¹ Hope you like it! I made a special request to @thicccqueyoongimin on the very last sketch just for this headcanon! That was the surprise I was waiting for š

⢠Eugene first noticed your deep-rooted interest in drawing in Toccoa when he caught you sitting alone one night in the chow hall with your nose hovering over your sketch book
⢠He had snuck a peek over your shoulder, curious to see what you were so focused on
⢠At that time, you were refining your ability to sketch hands
⢠Gene, utterly awed and mystified by your attention to detail, cocked his head to the side like a curious puppy as he watched you flit your hand gracefully across the white surface of your paper with your graphite pencil
⢠You of course swiftly slammed your book shut when you discovered you had an audience
ā¢"You draw real good, Y/F/N." He complimented with a coy smile, his deep honeyed Cajun accent sending shockwaves through your entire nervous system
⢠You make a mental note to be more cognizant of who's around while you're drawing in your book
⢠But since Toccoa, Eugene will have caught you drawing time and time again at least a dozen more times.
⢠You've learned he's too stealthy to avoid him spectating, so since Aldbourne, you've allowed him to sit with you as you draw while he watches you in admiration
⢠Your art inspiration came from the chaos of the war, the passing of seasons as you traveled with the Regiment, and from the men you served with in Easy Company
⢠The faces of your Easy Company brothers, once clean shaven, with the light of excitement and motivation shining in their eyes, faded into scruffy, dirt bound visages
⢠Now almost unrecognizable, each soldier with that thousand mile stare physically showing on their sullen faces, bearing the horrors of war
⢠You have managed to capture each phase of battle of these brave men in your sketches throughout the years with great and precise detail
⢠Although every soldier, officer, medic, nurse, and local you portrayed so elegantly on canvas, you especially paid close attention to Eugene
⢠His cool icy eyes: sometimes a frosty blue or what can sometimes only be described as gray with specs of silver was his first feature that struck you
⢠His wild thick, dark hair: perfectly unkept just waiting for your fingers to brush through it
⢠That jawline: flawlessly defined
⢠His profile: impeccably designed by the angels of God themselves.
⢠His lips: although chapped for most of winter in Bastogne, remained alluring and forever kissable
⢠And those hands... *clutching pearls* strong, steady, and capable while handling the wounded. Each having the ability in the midst of absolute mayhem to transition from a soft, gentle touch to a firm, unyielding grip
⢠Quite a few pages of your sketchbook were solely reserved for drawings of Eugene
⢠It's obvious to most of Easy how sweet you are on the beloved medic. Gene has a pretty good sense of your feelings for him, as well
⢠He often compliments your gift of drawing, all the while encouraging you to pursue a career in fine arts after the war
⢠Without hesitation, Gene will bring you replacement supplies when you lose your pencils or run out of paper
⢠In Austria, you finally build up enough courage to give him a few of the sketches you made of him
⢠You felt these specific pieces would capture his significant impact on the war as a medic
⢠He studies each image...scanning the features of his own face on the paper, wondering how the hell can someone be this good
⢠"It's like looking in the mirror." His deep voice purred before lifting his soulful eyes to yours
⢠You blush, flattered by his praise, then look down at your feet timidly
⢠"Thanks, Gene. That's sweet of you to say."
⢠"No, je devrais te remercier. (I should thank you)
⢠He embraces you, pulling you close into him, eyes locked onto yours.
⢠Your breath hitched and heart racing, Gene leans in with purpose and deliberation, locking those enticing lips onto yours
⢠Both of your souls set ablaze, your heart surrenders to him as his arms envelope you
i was wanting to request a oneshot or headcannons for frodo x reader! maybe like a cute picnic date or something domestic like a wedding day or marriage oneshot! i think that would be so cute! just something super fluffy, where frodo might be super nervous or shy at first but with a happy ending!
sorry if thatās not specific enough, you can always message me for more input if you want! thank you so much i canāt wait to read! <3
This is so cute! Sorry it took so long, I tried to write this as a oneshot but my little smooth brain didnāt like that so I switched to a headcanon as Iām just not confident enough with my writing yet for a more thought out story
Picnic date w/ Frodo
-He has no problem telling Sam to ask Rosie out, but becomes so shy the second the tables get turned on him
-You guys have probably been friends for a long time, Merry and Pippin totally try and play matchmaker
-I think when he finally does ask you out, you arenāt even sure if itās a date or not
-So flustered when you ask for clarification
-āWell I figured like a dateā¦.but it doesnāt have to be, you knowā¦whatever you wantā¦ā āThen itās a date!ā
-Once you walk away he sprints to Bilboās house for advice
-But frankly Bilbo is no use so he goes to his friends
-Merry suggests a picnic, Sam helps him make up a basket, and Pippin flips the coin he got from his bet with Merry
-Dresses in a casual outfit, but still nicer than usual. Probably something from Bilbo
-Day of, his friends are giving him a pre game pep talk. They are super serious too
-The date may be between you and Frodo, but they consider it a group project
-Gets a random burst of confidence when he knocks on your door, flowers in hand
-But when you open the door in a nice outfit his brain short circuits a bit and he is reminded of the situation
-Walking to the spot he picked out is pretty awkward
-Randomly blurts out stuff; āYou look niceā¦I mean not that you donāt usuallyā
-His nerves are quite cute though
-Heās usually so smooth and good with his words so it feels special to be the person he gets flustered for
-By the river he would have set up a beautiful picnic
-I imagine hobbits have mastered the art of picnic
-He is observant so he knows all your favorite things
-Even little details; sandwiches cut into hearts which Sam didnāt tell Frodo about so his cheeks are bright red
-Letās you carry the conversation, he just loves to listen to you talk
-He totally has the sweetest love eyes and you realize heās always looked at you like that
-Once he gets over his initial nerves you guys spend hours talking and laughing
-Until Pippin falls out of the tree nearby
-āOh uh, fancy seeing you hereā
-The other two are totally not also in the treeā¦
-He walks you back to your door and you give him a kiss on the cheek
-Blushed to his ears
-He smiles stupid the whole way home with a pep in his step
Summary: Bastogne took a lot out of everyone, thankfully Eugene Roe is an angel among men, and someone of whom you cant help but love
Pairing: Eugene Roe x Nurse!Reader (implied female/feminine character in video, not in writing!)
Warnings: mentions of canon typical violence, Bastogneš¢, a few swear words, my poor baby Gene being sad, (let me know if i need to add anything!)
a/n: hi @thicccqueyoongimin! I am your HBO summer exchanger for @hbowardaily's hbowar 2024 summer exchange! I had a lot of fun working on this and I apologize that I wasn't posted sooner but my dog got sprayed by a skunk twice and I'm currently writing this on my phone in the library bc most of my towns Internet is down š you said angst and you said Eugene Roe and I went for it so I hope you like it!! (I also low key listened to High School Lover on repeat writing this tehe)
this is based on the actors in the show Band of Brothers, not the real men who served
Being a nurse in what you could only imagine to be the coldest place in the world was something you had never planned for yourself, yet here you are bloodied and bruised, hands full of dog tags that will never belong to their owners again. And as hard as you tried to scrub the blood from your fingernails and the memories from your mind that twisted their way into your subconscious, a nasty reminder that there is nothing fair about war, you couldn't. Because nothing could ever be fair in war.
Nothing besides Eugene Gilbert Roe, the kindest, fairest, simplest man you had met in this unforgiving, frozen wasteland. Love was not meant for war, but when Eugene was noting short of an angel, it was hard to deny it. As soon as he had arrived, asking for help on the front lines, speaking to Renee, he was gone. Bastogne long forgotten as they continued their push into enemy territory, doing lord knows what to stay alive. But before he had departed after returning due to word of the make shift hospital being blown to pieces, he told you to write him. And so you did. You wrote him as much as time permitted, though his letters became fewer in number until they stopped arriving, your worst fear etched deep into your mind. But in one of your last, you told him your address, in case you ever got to make it back to the United States, you wanted him to know he was welcome to visit.
And then you cried. Your cried when you heard the war was over, you cried when you were relieved of your nursing duties. But you most of all cried during those nights that were too quiet, too peaceful, thinking of Eugene Roe, man's angel. You mourned, regardless if he be dead, for he had seen too much to atwastbnit be fully alive anymore, not really. You mourned his family who would see a different man emerge from the train that takes him to Louisiana, a place he talked of often.
Nearly a year later, you're sitting in your mother's living room, the house seemingly a lot emptier without all of your knickknacks laying about, now cluttering your own place instead. It's nearing sun down when a knock comes at your door, your brother answering, his limp prominent from his war time injury, and in walks a man you thought dead.
Eugene Roe, man's angel, a live reminder that there is still kindness in the world, standing in front of you, hat in hand. "You're here."
Your words, barely above a whisper as he takes three full strides, enclosing you in the arms that had saved so many lives, now holding yours. "I'm here," he confirms. "I'm here."
i drew this a little while ago, but i figured i might as well post it! i saw Return of the King in theaters yesterday so i am feeling emotional about him ^
