remember how a few months ago you were like "i'm not a an antitrust law expert"? And suddenly every corner of the motorsports was like "we can change thatš"
Btw this reminds me, earlier this year when motogp was bought by liberty media it made me wonder if that is entering sketchy monopoly territory. š¤ idk how this works since liberty media is american and nascar is big there so there is a competitor. But where i'm from f1 and motogp are by FAR the most popular motorsports and together take up basically the entire market...
I know you sent this months ago (iām sorry) but yeah so real š NASCAR episode coming before the end of the year i hope. Itās taking me a long time to put together because school ofc but also explaining the economics/general logic of a monopoly is the WORST. & all i can say is thanks NASCAR for the new area of antitrust law i have to learn.
Also in the new Andretti episode i mention how the motogp purchase + the andretti saga made some EU parliament members very suspicious but the EU commission said last week they arenāt going to do anything about it. Idk if that means either they heard cadillac was being let in so they didnāt want to pursue it because they didnāt see the point or what. The EU commission has been hard on F1 in the past (splitting the FIA from FOM/the media rights holder) but since that was so big idk what if that makes them more suspicious or less suspicious of F1 now.
