First attempt at Vanilla mochi

Notes: -ice cream needs to be very frozen -buy a circle cookie cutter -mochi is VERY sticky… Coat everything in corn starch -mochi has to be hot in order for it to be malleable.

First batch with friends!

Woah! So tasty!

Everyone was so excited to dig in after I had separated most of the ice cream into tupperware so we ate out of the mixing bowl... Haha...

I had some friends over tonight and we all helped in making my first batch of ice cream. Literally everyone did at least one step in the recipe. We started with a vanilla base and added an apple cinnamon reduction.

Sooo... Important observations/ lessons learned from my first test: 1.) don't shoot video through the tumblr app on an iPhone... Lol... 2.) Watch the machine carefully, paddle can get stuck. Don't want to burn out the motor with too much stress. :0/ 3.) Materials must have to use a liquid with a thicker viscosity than water. It freezes too strongly and quickly and jams the paddle. 4.) Soap made little suds 5.) Small ice peals in middle of water 6.) Perhaps there is potential to make a stronger blade that is sharper and closer to the edge of the freezer bowl to scrape ice.... Maybe it becomes a way to make snow cones.... Or snow skins... Eww I clearly need to think of a better name. Haha. 7.) I wonder if the bowl can heat instead of freeze. !?!? Chicken Noodle Ice Cream anyone? 8.)The bowl is clean so now I can use it. 9.)I really should try to just make ice cream with the damn thing!

My brother got me ice cream maker for my birthday so guess what y’all!? I’m going to make some stuff with it.

The instructions say that I should clean all the parts before my first use, but I think I’ll just kill two birds with one stone.

Materials: Water, Dish Soap
