Feel free to submit lessons you've learned and to ask advice/questions about ANYTHING!
168. When entering college, people chose individually which lifestyle they want to get involved in (party-goers, non-party-goers, religious groups, etc). Your choice is no better and no "more fun" than anyone else's. Let them live their life just as they let you live yours.
167. College truly is the fastest and questionably the greatest time of your life (live it)
166. Rape is very serious and very real on college campuses.
165. The weeks leading up to going (or going back) to college are the longest
164. It's hard to think about college during the summer
163. Leaving for the summer is sad.
162. Taking study breaks is SO good for you
Best song for a break up? :(
It's not about the sad songs that define your heartbreak, but the songs that can make you happy despite your situation. Hope you feel better :)
Ask me anything!
161. Learn to budget!
Even if your parents are generous enough to pay for all of your college expenses, you will actually be on your own someday (without their help). You will need to learn how to live on less than what your parents give you. Learn how to search for deals, learn how to coupon if you have to, and learn how to make choices based on what you need versus what you think would be cool to have around the house.
RE: "People Suck"
Not exactly a tip for surviving college, but because of recent events, I feel like this needs to be said:
It's really easy to look at horrible things that happen and generalize humanity as a whole. But before you do that, think about yourself. Think about your family. Think about your friends, your professors, your mentors, that person who chased you down the street that one time to give you back something you dropped that probably wasn't that important, think about that person who made you smile on a bad day by making a bad joke; think about all the genuinely good people in the world.
Yes, you can think about the bomber. You can think about what a crummy person he or she is for having done this in the first place. But look at how quickly the country as a whole came together in support of Boston. Look at how quickly people from other countries sent their condolences. Look at how quickly people went to donate blood, and look at how quickly people ran to help those who needed it seconds after the explosion.
Humanity as a whole is beautiful. Bad things happen, and I'm not saying that what has happened in Boston isn't absolutely horrible, because it is. I don't have words to describe what I'm feeling toward those affected by what has happened. I'm just saying that maybe we shouldn't make a hasty generalization about humanity every time one jerk acts out.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Boston. What has happened is horrible, but know that there are SO many good, pure people who are standing behind you. You are not, and never will be, alone.
160. Stop complaining about everything you have to do and start doing them. It's much more productive and people sincerely don't care about your to do list.
159. There will always be close-minded, difficult people.
158. Having a job means accepting that your friends without jobs will still get to do fun things while you're washing dishes (or whatever)
157. St. Patrick's Day Weekend provides college students everywhere with a reason to get more drunk than they would any other weekend.
ask me literally anything
submit shit and i'll give you credit + you're 100% more likely to get straight A's for the semester if you do this is not a drill
