With the recent interview with the devs, I think we are safe from colonizier Deep Cut

It feels less like they're trying to make the salmonids on the spiralilte island evil and barbaric, and more that.....theres something wrong that's going on with the salt and salmonids

Like the devs said, the salt is seeming to make them far more aggressive than usual. They even bring up that it's eerie. It feels like the salt is ultimately hurting the salmonids. Or morphing them into something wrong

This feels like another "messing with the natural order" story that Return of the Mammalians was going towards with the Fuzzy Octarians but ultimately did nothing with.

I don't think this is a story about plundering, it's a story about trying to fix yet another type of bad end, like Sanitization, Fuzzification or Grey Scaling. Of something taking away people's autonomy

I keep having dreams about Spyke being an actual storekeeper where you can buy additional clothes/gear from him with Salmon run scales or festival shells or shell out tokens. It's mostly cosmetic, literally just new types of pants/skirts and stuff you can wear along with gear, like a hat to go with glasses or glasses for any other type of headgear.

I keep waking up wanting to get on Splatoon to get new pants and it takes me 30 minutes to remember that that's not a thing 😭

i get the feeling a lot of fans think Callie overreacted in Splatoon 2 when she went to the Octarians. But Splatoon 2 also said that the loser of a Splatfest is LEGALLY THE WRONG OPTION, THE LESSER OF THE TWO CHOICES. And Callie was 17 when that fest happened. She was a child being told that legally, her cousin was better than her. That she was the lesser Squid Sister. In a literal, legal sense. That she was legally less beloved than Marie.

If that shit happened to me when I was 17, I also probably would have been mentally fucked up enough to go to the people I had been told my whole life were the enemy, especially if they said they loved me as much if not MORE than my legally better sibling.

And the fact she constantly goes BACK to Octavio and the hypno shades proves that even though Marie is doing her damnest to show Callie how loved she is, the rest of the inkling world still considers her the lesser Sister and it still bothers her enough to run away to people who say they love her more when they're really just using her for their gain.

Honestly, I don't think Splatfests are legally binding in 3. Not because of Callie, unfortunately, but because Deep Cut don't seem to take it as legal in the end. The Squid Sisters and Off The Hook still trash talked during the results, whereas Deep Cut seems to "see the other side" during their results. Like Frye apologizing to Big Man for basically rejecting his gift and then immediately started planning with Shiver to get him a matching gift so they could all go out and match. Or the results of Grand Fest where they literally saw why Big Man was right in trying to unite Splatsville and Inkopolis.

I feel like it literally being a popularity contest is far better than it being legally binding. It's why Frye and Big Man didn't become depressed when Shiver was decided to be the leader from the leader fest. They know they are still as loved and appreciated by everyone as Shiver is, her team just won the turf battles.

Its also why I feel Team Past winning the Grand Fest is very fitting and probably healing to Callie. Even in the DLC plazas, Callie and Marie represented different teams, even if they were constantly switching colors. Even if they were no longer in charge of Fests, they couldn't represent the same team during their performances.

But in Grand Fest, the Squid Sisters were finally on the same team. And they won.

Together.

No one truly better than the other.

How healing that must have been to her inner child, still upset at being the lesser.

She finally won with Marie being on equal ground.

so, we all are aware that Octarian society is very militaristic. Do you think they'd have propaganda with iconic members of the military? Or someone who poses as the perfect rival to get people to join? Somewhat like Rosie the Riveter?

so I recently found a used copy of Splatoon 2 for like 15 bucks and I played for most of yesterday. Don't get me wrong, it's really fun and I can see why it has so many fans to this day!

But, like, this game cannot stay connected to the Internet for more than thirty minutes at a time. I had so many disconnects in the beginning of games, saw multiple names in the lobby that never seemed to be able to play a single game (poor Kevin), and would just have games break catastrophically where everyone disconnects in the final minute.

Granted, I play handheld almost all the time, so I'm not docked and further connected to the Internet. But I disconnected like 5 times compared to the like 10 other disconnects from other people.

ALSO! Apparently drinks and food tickets COUNT DISCONNECTS AS A FULL GAME!?! Maybe I'm spoiled by Splatoon 3 just disconnecting you after another DC and letting you keep that use of the ticket.

And finally.....

WHY THE FUCK DOES MR GRIZZ SEND YOU OUT BY YOURSELF IF YOU CAN'T FIND OTHER PLAYERS? YOU CAN'T JUST CLOSE THE ROOM LIKE IN TURF? AND SOLO GAMES ARE ALMOST ALWAYS WHEN THE BULLSHIT STARTS SPAWNING. WHAT YOU YOU MEAN I HAVE TO DEAL WITH FIVE MAWS AND THREE STEELHEADS TRYING TO KILL ME WHILE MY ANKLES GET NOMMED BY SMALLFRY?
