This is an urgent petition to halt the scheduled deportation of Lydia Nabukenya [HO Ref: N3008521] back to Uganda on Tuesday 14th March 2017 where she faces persecution and the risk of serious violence. Lydia is a Ugandan lesbian who fled to the UK in 2015. She had to flee her home country as in...
Hey guys, this is Mod H here, and Iād like you to share and reblog this petition to stop the deportation of Lydia Nabukenya, a lesbian from Uganda who had to flee to the UK because her life was in danger. She volunteers at a charity local to me, and what has happened to her is so horrific that I thought Iād share the petition here to spread the word.
There are more details at the link, but a summary of her story is this: Lydia was pressured into marriage to a man after her aunt discovered she was gay, and was physically abused and attacked for her sexuality during this period. She fled to the UK in 2015 and claimed asylum, but her claim has been rejected multiple times for reasons that have not been explained to her. She is the former vice captain of the Ugandan Commonwealth Games team at the Glasgow games, and is a well-known sports woman in East Africa. She has also been outted by the Ugandan press, meaning that if she was forced to go back she would not be able to hide. Currently, being gay is illegal in Uganda and punishable by life imprisonment, though there are efforts to make it punishable by death.
She deserves to have a happy and safe life here with her girlfriend, and not forced back to a place where her life was literally in danger. Please, sign the petition and reblog to share the word. If you can and you are in the UK, you can also write to your MP orĀ Lydiaās (Jeff Smith at [email protected]) and her girlfriend Margaretās (either Louise Ellman atĀ [email protected], or Maria Eagle [email protected])

German Photographer Nina Wild captures beautiful moments showing the connection between humans and animals.
Personally, my favorite out of these is the middle one, because I love how happy the model looks, plus, it reminds me of the Estonian Myth of Valge Hirv, a myth we have that states that if you catch a glimpse of the white stag (valge hirv), itās an incredible omen/symbol of luck.Ā
