Get motivated for your next workout.
Thin privilege is having your womanhood taken away from you by a website that is supposed to be feminist, just because you aren’t overweight.
Getting up is sometimes harder than the whole workout tho 😬

“Running has always been a relief and a sanctuary—something that makes me feel good, both physically and mentally. For me it’s not so much about the health benefits. Those are great, but I believe that the best thing about running is the joy it brings to life.”

Detox myths dietitians wish you would stop believing
Most detox diets fall short of their promises and some can even be harmful. They can be misleading, and can lead to long term habits that can harm your weight loss goals in the long run.
Detox diets are not an effective way to lose weight. You’ll drop a few pounds if you deny yourself food, but it’s nearly all water. Prolonged low-calorie plans can damage your metabolism. Detox diets are often void of protein, which means you’ll lose muscle mass while cleansing. When the weight creeps back on, (and it will) most of the weight regained will be fat. In the end, you’ll be worse off than when you started.
Cleanses DO NOT reset your system. Stop believing you need to go on a “cleanse” where you only consume specific foods such as juices or lemon water in order to “reset your system.” It makes more sense to follow a sustainable approach that gives the body the nutrients it needs to do what its deigned to do. An overall healthy diet in combination with fully functioning kidneys and liver will help our bodies stay healthy inside and out. No magic potion required.
Detoxes DO NOT help certain health conditions. Its concerning that claims are made that detoxes can treat certain conditions. There is no research to support going on a detox to improve conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. In fact, going on a detox could cause someone with diabetes to develop extremely low blood sugar, which could be extremely dangerous.
Myth: Activated charcoal helps you detox. Activated charcoal is another thing dietitians agree may do more harm than good. This trend has become more popular for its supposed ability to help remove toxins from your digestive tract. An idea that came from its use in emergency medicine to treat acute poisoning. So what about claims that it can detox the body from alcohol and junk food? Studies show it does not help detox from alcohol OR junk food, and can in fact make other medications less effective. It’s not selective about what it absorbs. It can also keep you from absorbing essential vitamins and nutrients from food.
Juice cleanses DO NOT help you lose weight. Dietitians wish clients would give up on juice cleanses for good. The lack of fiber, can wreak havoc on your blood sugar and mood. Fiber helps with satiety; juices extract that valuable fiber and usually lack filling fat and protein to boot. Most detoxes put stress on our organs which try to compensate when not receiving the most basic nutrients.
Myth: You need to detox at all! Save your money! There is no reason to spend hundreds of dollars a month to detox and rid their body of toxins. There are so many different types of products on the market that claim to rid our body of toxins and cleanse our bodies. They are a huge waste of money and can even be harmful. Some ingredients can even interact with certain medications. Our bodies were amazingly designed to rid themselves of any true toxins we come across, and unless you’ve got organ failure, your body doesn’t need help detoxing!
