Greetings! My name is Clemont, and I am the proud Gym Leader of the Lumiose City Gym! My type specialty lies in the shockingly unpredictable electric-type! I work hard to bring out only the greatest of my challengerās creativity and ingenuity! I am also an inventor, and a proud advocate of all things science! I hope to create works that will one day help both people and pokemon!
After the emotional conclusion that was todayās episode and posts, I feel it prudent to announce that this blog, and my other four Pokeani RP blogs, @striatoncityconnoisseur, @striatonhotrod, @maneofscience and @draconiddreamer, are shutting down. They will be retained since many of them have RPās and records that I treasure and value, so they will not be deleted. However, unless Clemont gains a cameo in SM, or has a special of some kind, there will be no more posts coming off any of these five blogs.
Thanks to all of my followers for tagging along for the ride, and to my fellow RPers for making this such a great experience! Iāve had a lot of fun with all these characters, and I wish you all the best going into the future! After allā¦
A Zero With No End!Ā āTil The Day We Meet Again!
The day has finally arrived.
Weāre on the phone here, with Professor Oak and Ashās Mom! @mypikachuwillneverevolve was mostly telling them about how he was going home, but it was nice to speak with them again! Even though weāre all going our separate ways, Ms. Ketchum was nice enough to invite us to her house in Pallet Town if we were ever in Kanto!
We watched @serenaofvanivilleā take off, and like that, she was off, chasing her dream.
I know Iāve probably said this a lotā¦ butā¦ I suppose it bears repeating.
Serenaā¦ Iā¦ ratherā¦ we, are really proud of you.
Not just forā¦ following your heart in one sense, but two.
Weāll most certainly stay in touch. We all owe you that much and more!
Naturally, Serena made quite the impression on her departure. And we wanted to do the same for ours.
We met through battleā¦
ā¦ and that was how we were going to part as well.
And just like in that park so long agoā¦ even fighting through myā¦ erā¦ dislike of being on cameraā¦ @bonnielovespokemonā insisted she take some shots of thisā¦
Iāll be honest, I wouldāve regretted it if I didnāt. I wanted something to remember this by, even if Iāll commit it all to memory. Something physical to accompany the experiencesā¦
So Ash and I had our finally battle. Of courseā¦ Ā he chose Pikachuā¦
So it felt only appropriate to choose Bunnelby.
A recreation of our first matchā¦

And all too soonā¦ the match was finished. I could say who won, who lost, who struck which blow and who stood in victory in our last encounter.
Butā¦ I donāt think that was what was important today.
What was important, is what we shared. Along with Ash, myself, Bonnie and Serena, we grew up, each in our own ways. Each of us was a catalyst for the other. Each of us facilitated the reaction that we experienced with the rest of the world, keeping us steady and true on the path to our new equilibrium.
Itās a reaction that will never stopā¦ not just for usā¦
But for our friendsā¦
For Professor Sycamoreā¦
For Alain and Mairinā¦
For Sawyerā¦
For Shauna, Tierno and Trevorā¦
For those we parted withā¦ like Goodra...
And Greninjaā¦ and Squishyā¦
For everyone whose lives we touched and influenced ours in turnā¦
Weāre forever changed, our formulae altered, and for the better.

All our happiness, all our tears, all our trials and tribulations, and all our friends, open up the way to the future.
Because sometimes, thereās things that even science cannot explain.
Today, weāre starting to get the final bits of our journey wrapped up. And one of those bits is taking Goodra back to the Wetlands. Of course, @mypikachuwillneverevolve and @bonnielovespokemon were the least excited about taking Goodra back, but he belongs in his home with his friends.
ā¦Iām telling myself this, but @this-blog-will-not-explode and I are pretty sad to see him go, too.
And so, we said our final goodbyes to Keanan and headed back towards Lumiose City. The airportās up and running again, and Ash and I have planes to catch.
It was quite the ordeal, but my Mind-Control-Disrupting-Brain-Wave-Stabilizing Button did the trick! I'm glad that we were able to finish off the last remnants of Team Flare... as our own team...
And already it looks like our team is starting to break apart...
I... suppose that will make the last of our time together more precious. After Goodra and Greninja leaving... well... I suppose we all have our own paths and responsibilities to pursue...
But thanks to technology, we'll always keep in touch! My friends are my strength, and I want to make sure they we maintain communication so that we'll always give each other that same benefit, even across great distances!
After all, families grow and travel! And yet we can remain close, thanks to science!
I'm really proud of you Serena. These decisions you've made were most certainly difficult to ponder and more so to finally make, but I'm certain you've made the right one!
While Bonnie and I will certainly miss you when you travel to Hoenn, we'll be sure to keep in touch! After all, communication is easy thanks to science!
We know your hard work and imaginative mind will take you far in that region, and beyond!

It was a great performance, Serena! I think you brought back a bit of the life to Lumiose City that was lost during the Flare Attack!
I'm really grateful, and I had a great time there too with Ash and my sister watching you and Shauna, and even Jessali, for all her antics... heheh...
Theā¦ uh battleā¦ or ratherā¦ Clembotās first battleā¦ or rather, this incarnation of Clembotās first battleā¦ made me quite reflective of everything once it was all said and done.
I kept it together pretty well during the eventā¦ I suppose because as a gym leader and someone who needed to support Clembot during this occasion, it was necessary. Focusing on the battle itself helped quite a bit as wellā¦
But, regardless, I wanted to showcase this battle because it was importantā¦ not just for me, not just for Clembot, and not even just for Alva, but for all of us.
Itā¦ felt like a chance to reclaim the normalcy that we seemed to have lost after the Team Flare attacks on Lumiose.
So it began, Alvaās bid re-challenge the gym, and in particular, Clembot.
And I would be right behind him as he took on this new challengerā¦
It was really an interesting battle to watch. It really was I like I went back and saw how you battled at the start of our journey together, Clemont! @citroidunitās already learned so much in this short time.
Of course, more happened that day, too, but I think Clemont wanted to focus on his battle. I guess this is how youāre going back to Zero, huh, Clemont?
It's really nice to see the world return to some semblance of normalcy...
But I guess without those distractions... we really have to think about where we're all going, don't we...
I know you'll figure out, Serena, after all, you already took that big first step in finding your dream after summer camp right?

Thankfully my dad decided that stepping in to referee during Clembotās inaugural match since his repair would be a good idea, and I agreed. Considering he was the only previous League Member qualified to do so besides myself, since I would be coaching Clembot.
The battle began as I predicted, with Clembot sending out Magnemite.
Alva responded with his Vivillion.
Clembotās analysis of opposing pokemon seemed to be in working order, as I hoped.
Howeverā¦
Clembotās lack of experience in battle (since such a thing isā¦ difficult to program as is, the learning subroutines are what help Clembot develop pattern recognition and strategy) left him open to more creative tactics Alva employed, counting an electroball on the onset and using quiver dance to bolster its own abilities.
This sent Clembot into something of a tailspin as it tried to analyze both its movements and potential tactics. I had to remind Clembot that thereās more to battle than that, and he had to focus.
However, this was the opening that Alva took advantage of, and using a sleep powder attackā¦
ā¦And a swift decisive energy ball afterwards, Vivillion was able to knock Magnemite out of the battle.
I had to offer a stern critique after that battle, butā¦ it was necessary. And Iām certain Clembot knew it too, since he quickly moved on with the battleā¦
ā¦and sent out Magneton.
Alva, however, riding on the wings of his previous victory, felt that the same tactic would work again.
However, I programmed Clembot better than that!
Learning from previous experience, he had Magneton execute rain dance, dousing the sleep powder!
(I wonāt lieā¦ it reminded me a bit ofā¦ my battle with Ash and his Goodraā¦
And naturally, using the inherently effective combination of that weather move and thunder, Clembot defeated his first pokemon challenger!
Alva, pretty incensed from this quick turnaround, tried to play the type-advantage card against us with a Pyroar. However, Clembot proved the more adaptable and managed to take Pyroar down before any real damage was done.
Naturally, I offered some good words of praise and encouragement for Clembot! He was learning so fast alreadyā¦ if I were less awareā¦ I mightāve almost believed he were rememberingā¦ how he used to battleā¦
Of courseā¦ thatās impossible in these circumstances, butā¦ thatās not what was important then.
It was the battleā¦ thereā¦ in the moment, as Alva sent out his most trusted pokemon, Cubone.
Up to this point, Alva had been fairly balanced in attack and defense with his tactics, but this time, he gave Clembot no quarter. A bonemerang attack, which we blocked with a sonic boom, was brutally followed up by a bone club attack, which knocked Magneton out cold.
I had to point out to Clembot that surprising shifts in battle style or tactics were a part of this process, and that he would have to adapt to that as well. (Once more this is something that seemed to remind me of my own battle with Ashā¦)
My advice was something he quickly took to heart, Iām sure, as he sent out his final pokemon: Helioptile, my own starter.
Alva, his passions raised by the stakes of the rematch, went on the offensive again, but Clembot was more than able to predict it this time, making ample use of Helioliskās exceptional speed to dodge the attacks.
I swear for a moment, I could see shades of Clembotās old battling styleā¦ I really do wonder if thereās ever fragments of code of the old Clembot that survivedā¦
Anywayā¦
Alva, stirred by his own memories and determination to not have a repeat of this battle pressed on. We traded blows with him! Dragon tail against bone club! Bonemerang against focus blast! And again!
But both Cubone and Alva were the more determined of the two, and they managed to push through the attacks and their move struck true against Heliolisk.
The battle was over. Our first battle, since zeroā¦
Now it was One.
Clembot, as I had intended him to, accepted the defeat graciously, congratulating Alva and rewarding him with the Voltage Badge.
As with Ash, we were starting from zero, and we already took our first step back to our path forward. And Clembot and I promised each other, just like beforeā¦
Welcome back, everyone! Itās been a busy few weeks since all that crazy stuff happened! Everyone in Lumiose City has been busy rebuilding and restoring the city to itās beautiful self!
That includes us! Lumiose Gym is almost back to normal, too! @this-blog-will-not-explode is almost ready to have new challengers!
