After not too long, Josh and Tyler show up. Tyler basically opens the door while the car is still moving.
“Patty? That you?”
“–You fucking idiot, stop doing that!” Josh’s voice rang. The car coming to a stop makes the small blonde jump. He cuts the men a look, shoulders shaking.
“I’m Patty, yeah–”
He jumps out properly once the car stops.
“Hey- Wassup? What’d you call us out here for…?”
“Scarecrow is going to let Quinton go.”
Patty tries not to make eye contact, rubbing his neck.
“He is? Holy shit-”
“…In exchange for me going back, yeah.”
“Look- You don’t have to go back if you don’t want to- Quin could get out… we’ll get him out…”
“It’s for Quinton. He has family, I don’t.”
He looks to Josh, a worried look on his face.
Josh furrows his eyebrows, frowning. “Patty uh– Seriously, are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“… We can take you home- Try to stay safe?”
“I don’t know how safe I’m going to be, but I’ll try. Maybe I’ll have a chance next time he dies.”
“… We’ll take you back, kid.”
“Oh–?”
“Hop into the back! Jim doesn’t bite.” Josh glances to the dog that was calmly sleeping behind Josh’s seat.
Patty hesitates before climbing in, sighing.
He makes Josh bring them to Scarecrows factory and again leaves the car while its still moving, jumping out and rolling.
“TYLER-” Josh’s loud words make Jim and Patty jump awake. The blonde whimpers quietly, and climbs out the car as it stops.
“What? I’m fine!”
He waves a hand and heads to the doors, pushing them open. He suddenly pauses and backs up a bit, the muzzle of a makeshift rifle pressed against his forehead.
“… Uhhh- I take that back!”
Josh jumps out the car once it’s stopped, Jim jumping out his window with him. The Golden Retriever starting growling at the man pointing the rifle at Tyler, his fur standing up. Patty stays behind Tyler, his head lowered so all that could be seen is his bleach blonde hair.
Tyler slowly steps back, Scarecrow forcing him out. His face is covered with that gas mask of his.
“You all had better have a good explanation for this,” Scarecrow growls.
“I stayed with Alexander for a few days after I ran.” Patty doesn’t look up. “Josh and Tyler had nothing to deal with it. They’re just here for Quinton.”
He’s quiet for a moment, then lowers the gun.
“I’ll get him. Tyler, Josh, stay out here. Patty… Inside. Now.”
“I’m not going in until Quinton’s out here.” Patty stands his ground, looking up at Scarecrow. “I don’t trust you.”
Jim starts to lurch towards Scarecrow, but Josh kneels down and grabs his collar. “No–”
He points the gun at the dog, readying the weapon.
“Patty. Now. Before I decide to get rid of you instead. And the damn mutt.”
Patty looks towards Josh and Tyler, his blue eyes silently pleading for help before he approached the man.
Tyler took a step forward before Scarecrow pointed the gun back at him.
“Good boy, Patty.”
He grabs Patty and pulls him in, shutting the door. He leads Patty to the second floor of the factory, to his room, and cuffs him to the bed.
“You and I are going to have a talk.”
He leaves Patty there and goes to the basement to recover Quin, pulling him out of his cell and dragging him back upstairs and outside, throwing him in front of Tyler and Josh.
“Here, take it.”
Patty makes a quiet noise of protest as he dragged away. Josh lets go of Jim’s collar, and the dog almost ran after them. Until he saw Quinton. Then the golden pup ran to the familiar face’s side, licking at the black haired teen’s face.
“Ty–? Josh?”
Scarecrow slams the door behind him, heading back up to deal with Patty.
Tyler runs to Quin once Scarecrow is out of sight, going to help him up.
“Quinton- Are you okay? We’ll kill him- I want to make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone else-”
“I’m fine.”
“I’m fine, I think-”
Then he’s lifted up. The sudden movement from down to up causes the boy’s eyes to roll back. He freezes for a moment.
“How?”
“Hey- It’s okay- hang on- I don’t know yet- But we’re getting you back to Ohio.”
"I don't-- Where is Patty? He hasn't been here in days--"
