Haven’t been on tumblr in a long time, but all of my other social media accounts are “professionalized” now, and I guess I need somewhere to write something kinda long. I don’t really care who reads this, but, I do care that at least someone does.
Okay here goes.
I’m an adult now, I didn’t mean to really, I didn’t mean to lose my childhood, but I did.
I’m getting a real job this summer, at a real company, for real money.
I live with my girlfriend, in our condo, at least till school ends.
I’m going to marry her.
I have co-workers, and classmates, friends who share my interests, who are part of my network.
Sometimes, I even say “personal branding”.
I’m smart, I’m good at what I do, and I’m proud of it.
But guys, girls, etc, I’m so sad at 12:51am on a Thursday.
My girlfriend sleeping, the lights out, and I’m thinking about so many things that are gone. So many people who meant SO MUCH to me, that feel like they just went poof.
I won’t name names, but if anyone reads this and you think part of it is about you. It probably is, please don’t mention it to me, but just read about yourself and feel what you feel.
People I Feel Like I’ve Lost (PIFLIL for short):
My elementary school crush:
She was my first love, I loved her for four years. I used to think about her night after night, I used to think that was creepy. I know better now I think. Creepiness requires malice, and all I ever wanted for her was happiness. She went to a different school, after us being such close friends, and did worse than say goodbye. She said good riddance.
My best friend since childhood:
We met at 2 years old. I pushed him around in a wheelchair when he broke his leg. I was scared when he almost died of a kidney infection. When I was a kid, he was the only person like me in the whole world. Now he’s bitter, and honestly, he hates me. I don’t know why, but I can feel it when I’m around him.
My first real love:
I...
I don’t know how to say this one. Its so much more complicated.
You hurt me. Not occasionally, not sometimes. You hurt me everyday. But not in the way I thought.
You hurt me because I needed you to be someone you weren’t, because I didn’t love you for the right reasons, and because you needed me more.
My life is blessed, I am so lucky to have been born into my family, my race, my money, and your’s wasn’t. Yet I had the gall to ask you to be there for me, all the time, when you were in so much pain.
I don’t regret leaving you, but I don’t blame you, and the scars are still there when no one’s looking.
Messages For Those Who Are Left:
My sole mate:
Everyone else here, in this pack of cards that this blog post has become, can’t understand the depth behind my words. Except you. Although I can never explain how much I love you, how much I need you, and how much I will forever endeavour to end your pain and heal your scars, you understand. Please shine with me, to shore me up, and dry my tears.
A Final Message to the World:
Fuck the notion that I’m not allowed to feel all of this. I’m white, male, straight, and privileged. You know what that means? I have to write blog posts at 1:00am to drop my burdens. It means people leave, and never come back, because you can never tell anyone how much they mean to you. How much you need them to stay. I’m a millennial, and according to the world, we have everything and still expect more.
But you know what?
Its people like us who are going to fix this damned mess, its people like me, who will stand in front of our creations and accept the applause. Its people like me who will never buy a house, or a car, or have kids, because its the right thing to do.
Anyways, thanks for anyone who actually read this garbage, I feel better. Goodnight!
