The cool thing about Magnus Scheving being really hot, athletic, and one of the richest people in the world is that you also know he’s a huge nerd who loves theater and willingly acted alongside puppets and he is an earth-bound spirit guide for anyone who loves to write fiction for kids or who loves drawing art for kids. There is absolutely nothing fragile about his masculinity and if anyone makes fun of you for liking Lazytown or another kids show or for creating content that’s family friendly, you can just remember the words of Hot Gymnastics Dad, and that he reaffirms that you can exist in a world where you can both be an adult with grown-up thoughts and desires, while also tapping into that completely innocent, child-like wonder that exists in your soul, and that creating content for kids is really just creating content for real, valid, existing human beings who just haven’t been alive on earth as long and who need support and validation and inspiration. Sportacus is both a sex symbol and also a symbol that reminds you that you can spend your time drawing and writing without focusing on sex or money or the worry that your creations have to be more ‘successful’ than the creations of other people. You can be a grown up and also create what you love with the aesthetic that you love. One of the rules of Lazytown is that ‘everybody wins’. If anyone ever asks you why you’re reading or writing or watching or drawing something ‘for kids’, you can remind them that it’s not just for kids, it’s for everybody, and then you can remind them that Magnus Scheving once performed in front of 10,000 screaming women.
