Unfortunately I forgot my password to my personal tumblr account. I rarely get to the internet so I wanted to post this online (other than my facebook). I very rarely post my poetry on the internet. It is my life, just as other’s work is to other artists. I appreciate support and do not mind if you share my poem as long as I am still given the credit I deserve. Thank you, I hope you like it.
Five years ago,
I did not feel the same.
And unfortunately,
it’s the people I blame.
A man full of hate,
trying to lead this land,
versus a man with a vision,
of fortune for all men and women.
A woman is judged,
for all that she does.
But a man can destroy,
and the world may not budge.
A girl whose safety broke,
and is scared for her future,
must now face ridicule,
for her chance to stay secure.
We speak so softly,
so not to offend,
that some passion is lost,
because the mind cannot bend.
And then I see passion,
of pain and spite.
These are the things,
that keep me up at night.
But call me naive,
for I still dream.
That we can unite,
though the world seems mean.
And some days it pains me,
to still hold this hope,
that people are mostly good,
I just need it to grow.
