An engagement party to remember||Rysher
Ryder: couldn't believe that he was finally engaged to the love of his life. The two had basically been together for basically 20 years (sure, not literally together but best friends). As soon as he was even old enough to know what love was, he knew that he was in love with Asher Dameron and that there was no other man for him. Lucky for him, Asher felt the same way and there was a large avoidance of awkwardness that could ruin a friendship he holds so dearly. Since the day he met him, he couldn't imagine a world without him. He was his best friend and now his fiance, and truly he couldn't be happier. No one was truly surprised when they announced that they were engaged, it was bound to happen eventually. Ryder was pretty sure that more people were surprised that they waited so long. It was the night of their engagement party, all of their friends and family (at least most of their family) together to celebrate one unsurprising but happy event in their lives. "We should probably go say our speeches," Ryder whispered into his fiance's ear before taking hold of his hand to lead him in front of the party. "Can we have your attention please?" Ryder said out loud to everyone, tapping something against his glass of champagne to get everyones attention. "Thank you everyone for being here," He began to speak once everyones attention was on the couple, "I know no one is exactly surprised that we're engaged but that doesn't change how exciting it truly is that we finally are actually engaged," He said with a small laugh as he looked lovingly over at Asher, "God, there is so much I could say about this man and how much I love him and have basically since we were 6 years old. I could say so much, but honestly, we don't have the time to listen to me go on about how much I love this man next to me. So I'll just say, I am so so lucky to have him and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him." Ryder said before leaning in to give Asher a tiny kiss on the cheek. As he pulled away, he kept his eyes on him as he waited for him to speak.
