Sister trio Von Grey release self-directed music video for "Plans"
Sister trio Von Grey release self-directed music video for “Plans”
A few weeks back, I had the chance to catch sister trio Von Grey perform at Mercury Lounge in NYC. I was immediately enamored by the classically trained act whose eerie yet wistful vocals grabbed the attention of every single person in the room – and for good reason. One of my favorite tracks from the album was “Plans,” a track about transition and growth, and earlier this week Von Grey released…

Lauv concludes ‘I Met You When I Was 18’ playlist
There’s a good chance that at some point you’ve heard a song from Lauv. The singer/songwriter producer dropped his first single “The Other” back in 2015 and has since released a culmination of tracks that tell a story a bit out of order. The story, referred to as the ‘I Met You When I Was 18’ playlist, follows Lauv moving to New York City at 18 and falling in love for the first time, figuring out…

Oh, Weatherly announce debut album and drop “Here Tonight” video
Oh, Weatherly recently announced their debut full-length album, an emotionally revealing record for lead singer, Blake Roses. The Driver Era Drop “Preacher Man” Remixes
Brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch launched their new project, The Driver Era, earlier this year and their debut single “Preacher Man” has been buzzing since. In just under three months, the duo made their official Billboard chart debut at #39 on the Alternative Songs chart and for good reason. The feel-good song showcases a maturity in the brothers that fans of their former project, R5, have been…

The Weather Report: Imani Givertz
The Weather Report: Imani Givertz
Back in October, our team collectively decided to share our voices in honor of World Mental Health Day. While some people struggle silently, we wanted to open a conversation on mental health in a way that was comfortable and free of judgement. Months later, I asked why couldn’t we continue that conversation? What was once seen as something to be fearful of discussing has turned into a relatable…

Four Years Later.
Do you remember where you were exactly four years ago? I do. On January 31st, 2014, I went to see my favorite band. It was meant to be a pre-birthday celebration, watching them play one of my favorite albums with my best friend by my side. However, what should have been a great night ended up being one of the worst. The short story is that I had the most intense panic attack I’ve ever experienced…

Review:: Somewhere In Between | Vérité
Written by Eric Riley
Poking around online while in the process of getting started here, I wanted to see what some other people were saying and if it matched how I feel. While the results were a bit sparse, the briefest review I found was also the most helpful; five short words, encapsulating not only the buzz surrounding Vérité but also a perfect summary of what Somewhere in Between offers. “I can die happy now.” With the exception of blockbuster movies and the Stanley Cup Finals, summer is the worst of the four seasons - it’s a thousand degrees, football is still months away, there are bugs everywhere - it’s awful. But, along with the exceptions above, there is one more key redeeming factor that comes to mind - pop music always hits a peak midyear. Now with a trio of EPs on her resumé and a successful cover going viral, Vérité (born Kelsey Byrne) is here to not only show what she has to offer with her debut full-length, but prove that she can keep pace with the summer’s brightest starlets.
