I am the Sun
You think you have fallen for a single star that dances far away on starlight, oh brother of mine. But I, I am the Sun, the largest and brightest star upon the open skies. I have been known to harm and blind those that gaze upon me for far too long. But my radiance is warm and will ease your body from the coldness of the night air and the icy shine of the silver stars. Granted, I have burned the flesh of many folk that stand down me for too long, set forest ablaze when I light too bright. But for you, dear brother of mine, my fires will bring you no harm. Though I admit, I do wish to burn and mark your flesh, but with the heat of my desire and love for you, beloved brother of mine. Have I not shown my affections, my cares, my attentions for you enough that you long for this foreigner’s love so quick? Allow my rays to wrap around you, whom I have seen grown right before my eyes and silently vowed to guard and love you from the moment I first held you in my arms; I know you better than my own self. Why yearn for the distant, unreachable, and strange? I am here within your grasp, familiar, and everlastingly by your side. Did you not hear my words, brother? Was the venom too deep in your blood to understand the meaning of my rebellion against our king? I belong with you, brother of mine, and I, I am the Sun, the largest and brightest star upon the open skies and my fires are at your service now and forevermore.
