This is Maeve, a character from a book I’m writing, I’m thinking about posting the chapters here, I drew her, I know it’s been a while since I posted, but I’ve been struggling a lot with life, so I’m just glad I feel well enough to post!

No Regrets
From your left, right,
Everyone stomps on your light,
Says be like the others,
Skinner, thicker, curvier, less curves,
A sea of contradictions,
Trends are the strings,
We are the puppets.
we cut them off,
Free to fly, be ourselves.
Don’t blink for judgements,
Don’t pay them any mind.
Be you, exactly how you want
Gay, straight, queer, trans,
Everyone in between,
We rise above the judgement,
Be who you are,
No regrets,
We persevere through the triles,
Tribulation.
We are beautiful how we are,
Up, down, everyday.
Truly me
The beating of my heart,
Reverberates through me,
Like the steady beat of a drum.
As I gaze at myself, my true colors finally free
I have wings to fly,
I leave the home I've always known.
Me, finally known for what I am,
Stripped bare, no secrets to the world as I soar.
Leaving behind the words, the people.
I think elsa was right, my identity was always "something that I could touch but not quite hold"
I'm clutchimg it close to my chest, feeling free.
I know who I am.
And The smile I've been wearing finally reached my eyes.
(For context, I'm bi, but not out to my parents. They are homophobic. I decided to paint my nails black with my middle finger the bi flag. I felt super impowered, so I wrote this)
In The Infinite Abyss
it's cold, silent, black. Floating into the infinite abyss. I never knew zero gravity could be terrifying, but it is. I'm slowly going crazy, waiting for death to take me, for surely it would be better than this. Earth seems so close, I could touch it, bit no. I feel a warm light, my memories float away. I reach out to touch them, one by one. Some feel soft, my happy memories. Some feel hard, like rocks. Smiles crash into my vision. Everything is fuzzy. I feel burning now. I have to let go of the burning in my hands, But I can't move. Paralyzed, all I can do is feel the burning. My mind is slipping. I don't even have my thoughts to keep me company. I'm acutely aware of the darkness now. Never had I seen such a black before. I am becoming the blackness, who would care to remember me anyways? Floating onto the infinite abyss - ThisPoet
This is a new oc I made.
I'm trying to decide some things. What should her name be, and should she have bunny ears or cat ears?
The two names I'm thinking are,
#1. Mizuki. It means beautiful moon
#2. Melanie. It means blackness or dark.
Thanks for the help!
Behind her mask
If you just take a glance, You'll see a quiet girl. A wisp of wind A piece of fragile glass. You have to handle her gently or she'll break into a thousand pieces. But if you look closer, Look deep into her eyes, You'll see determination. You'll see behind her mask, Behind her pools of dark hazel eyes, Hurt. You'll see pain. But you will also see joy. A quiet contentment. You'll see a fiery temper, and a loyalty that surprises you. You could say don't judge a book by its cover, but you didn't even look at the book. If you look at her face you see HER. But you have to open your eyes, And really look, gaze. Take a risk and open the first page.
Summer morning
Sunshine softly smiling down at me,
Imploring me to awaken from my slumber.
I open my eyes to the sounds of the birds,
Ginko trees' long arms shake and dance in the morning wind,
Leaves like maracas,
A symphony of sounds,
The melody peaceful as peaceful can
Sapphire skies
when the sky retires to rest,
Color blooms across the horizon.
Sapphire skies like her cherry lips,
Broken clouds spread across the sky,
In hues of amber red, like the sky fell in love,
Casting romance of every street corner and rooftop.
Beautiful last breath of light like a kiss,
Short but sweet,
Softly waking the moon.
Moon
The moon, Oh so bright and yellow Smiling down at me. The sun, harsh on its trek to warm the earth, But the moon, pretty and sweet. Caressing, bathing us in it's soft glow. The moon and stars will keep our secret, For she too knows what it's like to be in love. Behold, she loves the sea. She glitters on the horizon, waiting for him. At dawn they finally kiss, Sharing a second of intimacy for only a moment, She understands us. She knows what it's like to have forbidden love. She makes our night magical, Casting light on the leaves making them a beautiful silver. What would the night be without her? The sea misses her during the day, But only he keeps the key to her heart, Just like he keeps mine.
LOST I'm lost, Floating adrift, Lost in the woods, Drowning in feelings I can't breathe, My sobs are choked, I fall to the ground, In a desert of hopelessness, Lost in a world that dies, That is all our fates after all. I feel hollow now, for I cut out my heart, I am stone. You can't get to me, You can't hurt me. I'm lost in fortification, An enormous castle of my own demise, And since I'm hollow, I can't feel the pain, The sting, Of you leaving me. Lost, and have little hope of being found.
"Scars" My scars don't make me less beautiful, They are a reminder that I am strong, Remind me I'm no machine, I can break and mend, And they are stitched up with love. The cracks in my skin let emotion shine through, I'm not invincible, but that's ok too. Some walls are made to be broken, like the ones around my heart. Some think the heart is weak, vulnerable. But I know it is strong, for when it breaks it heals, Even stronger than before. So you see, scars are beautiful too. They remind us of a time we felt, when we weren't as strong as we are today. Scars are stepping stones to who we were meant to be.
