Not the Daily 5 but the Monday-Thursday 5

So I'm getting really cruddy at remembering this, but I will try to post more since I have an eventful weekend!

I can't stop watching Doctor Who. Also, I want to buy all the things! Somebody HELP

I'm meeting my best friend for the first time this weekend! Precisely tomorrow morning! Actually, in twenty four hours I'll be with her!

I am so tired. I have a two hour drive today. But I look cute so hey, life's good.

MY LAST [WMU] FINAL IS IN LIKE TWO HOURS YES. Then I'm free... for a week.

I Never Covered the Friday Five?

I just went back and... I never did a Friday five. I posted the Thursday five on FRIDAY but not a Friday five. On the Friday that I visited my favorite author. Who inspired me with her Friday five to do the Daily Five.

It is a terrible experience to be semi-sick before exams. I just want to sleep and not wake up. Come to think of it, I might just live in my sweats this week.

I got a lot of quality family time this weekend, which was nice! I should definitely make an effort to hang out with my sister and brother in law more often. Kids, spend time with your family.

My mom bought a French press today and I'm super excited to use it. Except for the fact that it takes like ten minutes to make your coffee. But I love me some coffee.

I'm off to ice cream and Dr. Who now! Then I have to finish my British Literature paper that's due at 5 tomorrow. Yuck.

Alright, Its Sunday

Yay Sunday! Actually, I want to say BOO SUNDAY because this means my first exam is tomorrow.

I've decided to take the second summer semester off. It's a good choice.

I'm not really sure how it's 6:30 at night already? Okay, I lie, it is actually 6:23. It will probably be 6:25 by the time I publish this.

It would be really cool to be a book editor. I mean, you get to READ manuscripts as your job. Count me in!

Come to think of it, I am probably going to get some ice cream and watch Dr. Who! :)

On Being Really Behind

So I'm two posts behind, and it's only my first week here. I'm terrible at this already! But it's been a crazy two days.

I'm trying to cram for my finals right now, but all I want to do is watch Dr. Who.

On another note, I'm sick from my trip Friday to Chicago to see Sarah Dessen. I think it was the longest I've ever spent in a car doing absolutely nothing. I was so irritated.

Also, when I'm an author, I'm not going to make people BUY my book at a signing just so they can meet me to sign their book. That's seriously annoying.

I'm getting ready to do another one of these, so...

The Late 5

So even though nobody reads this (aside from Amanda probably), I forgot to do my daily five yesterday. I knew I would forget at some point...

Yesterday was my last day of classes. Woohoo! Not too excited for exams though.

I really wish the sun would come out. This weather blows.

I also really wish that I had a plate of chocolate chip pancakes or something of the sort in front of me.

Can't Today Be Over With Already?

I am currently at work, sipping on my coffee, and avoiding the crap all over my desk and in my basket because I don't know where to start! When in doubt, coffee and tumblr.

I just hit 30,000 miles on my car yesterday. And you're probably thinking, "30,000!? This chick is a senior in college and she has a brand new car?!" Well, his name is Ol Bob (thanks Joshua) and he's been through a lot in the two months I've had him, including about 4,000 miles. It's a great little Civic and I love it! But if you're still wondering: I sold my old car and bought it from my parents [mom to be exact]. Sweet deal. Oh, and after my trips to school this week, my kinda-road trip on Friday, and school FOUR DAYS next week [boo exams], he's gonna need an oil change.

I UNDERSTAND CALCULUS!!!! [At least some of it.] This makes me feel very accomplished.

I really could go for some pizza or Little Caesar's Italian cheese bread. Or Jimmy Johns... yeah. Food.

I finally sold off my One Direction tickets! Yay for me! I know, One Direction!? I saw them last year, and quite frankly, I don't think I'll be able to put up with the screaming tweens/teens anymore.

As Tom Hank [Facebook parody account] would say, have a grate day!

The Week Rolls On

1. So, as I write this on my iPod in Brown 3048 waiting for British Literature to start, I realize that the week before finals is actually quite slow and relaxing. It's nice. And not only that, but I am excited to do my final assignment for British Literature (writing a short paper on why Utopia should be turned into a movie) and get a move on with studying! 2. I SEE SARAH DESSEN IN THREE DAYS!! I mean, I'm not only excited for Sarah Dessen, but SARAH DESSEN! She's been my favorite author for years. Although I thought her book your was for her upcoming novel "The Moon and More", it's actually for the paperback release of "What Happened to Goodbye". Either way, I'm super excited to get out of Michigan for a bit and go to Chicago! 3. So I had preordered Fall Out Boy's new album, but iTunes wouldn't tell me if I had or not. I was confused because only "The Phoenix" had downloaded, but nonetheless I received an email from iTunes today. So now I have not one, but TWO copies of Save Rock and Roll. (But I only bought one!) I guess it will be worth my money, though, since I've been forking it over to FOB since I was about 11. Concert on 5/16 here I come!! 4. I think spring has finally arrived. It's nice and sunshiny outside! Not sure how warm, though, as I've been in Brown since 9:15 this morning. 5. My boyfriend, Joshua, has an appointment tonight with a company who specializes in training tech people for their certificates. He spent five years in the Marines (non-combat NCO) as a network communications something or rather (I can never remember the title). This could possibly mean, then, that he would put his university studies on hold to obtain ALL his needed certificates by the end of summer so he can get a "good job". Hopefully, our life plans will move forward! (Engagement, marriage sooner than later, house, family, yada yada.) This is exciting!!

To Get It Started

Hello! My name is Maddie, I'm 19, and I'm a [technical] first-year Senior at Western Michigan University. I'm studying Secondary English Education (major) and Secondary Physics Education (minor). This blog is mostly to make sense of the things floating around in my brain, but I hope that you will enjoy this as much as I do!

I was inspired to do this by Sarah Dessen's "The Friday Five" on her blog and I will follow the same format, except for one thing: there will be a Daily Five! Let's roll...

So, for most of us college students, the end of the semester is seriously right around the corner. While most everybody is worried about what grades they need to get so their GPA doesn't fall, I'm worried about the poetry analysis paper that is due tomorrow night for my Adolescent Literature class (I have a page and a half left to write) and retaking my Calculus I chapter one test tonight after tutoring (I'll be fine). Retaking Calculus I, you say? Yes, I can retake that test--and the second, and the third. Why? Because I am not only a student at Western Michigan, but at Glen Oaks Community College. Speaking of...

There's something you should know about me: I graduated in 2011 from my high school as class salutatorian. I then went to GOCC and finished my Associate's of General Studies in three semesters. Yeah, that's right, THREE! It wasn't too hard, actually. Saved money, too. So then, last fall, I transferred to WMU to continue my education.

Moving on, then, you should know that my blog title is actually what I feel: I'm plateaued. I especially feel this way because of the fact that I obtained a degree in three semesters, and I'm in my second semester at Western. I'm stuck at WMU for another SEVEN SEMESTERS! And it's [figuratively] killing me. I'm burning out, due to a lack of a break since Fall 2011, and I won't get one until the Summer II 2014 semester. Yuck. What I do to get my education in a very timely manner...

So while [mostly] all of you are thinking of your summer plans and what an awesome summer you'll have, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for just the FIRST summer semester, tuition due by 5/6 (it's about $3,000 for 9 credits)! It's not easy being a college student, and university breaks you.

I promise that most of these won't be whining or complaining about school, but today it is. These posts will not only deal with school, but life in general, and I hope some of you readers can take comfort in my words and enjoy them. Hopefully I will actually gain readers...
