I despise that this is necessary .
I once knew someone who did a game when she was in middle school / saw a game online or something , where middle school / elementary school girls practiced not getting their drinks spiked at parties by giving everyone glitter to slip into the others drinks . The goal was to try and sneak the glitter into someone else's drink, and to avoid getting your drink spiked . And that makes me really sad and angry and it makes me feel sick .
PRETEENS . MIDDLE SCHOOLERS . NEED TO PRACTICE PROTECTING THEIR DRINK .
PEOPLE NEED TO PUT GLITTERY MAKEUP ON THEIR LEGS IN CASE THEY GET KIDNAPPED . PEOPLE NEED TO CARRY PEPPER SPRAY AND RAPE ALARMS IN CASE THEY GET GRABBED . AND PEOPLE JUST ACCEPT THAT ??????
I feel disgusted and sick and i hate that people are used to this .
I hate that I've had ~5 adults / strangers hit on / flirt with me , and I hate that that's LUCKY , because it's ONLY been 5 , and no adult has gotten physical with me in that way ( to my knowledge ) . The worst of it was a drunk 17-18 y/o telling me ( 14 y/o at the time iirc ) that I / my body " would look great in a bikini " . That's NOTHING . And I hate that I've just accepted that internally .
I hate that I get nervous when cishet male - presenting strangers approach me / seem to be approaching me . I hate that I used to hold my house key in - between my fingers when I had to walk to my bus stop a few years ago . I hate that this is the experience of billions of people . I hate that this is accepted , it makes me cry and feel sick
