I Ching Reading

Just a little reading I did similar to the question I posed using I Ching back during this president's first term. Unless noted otherwise, all interpretations are by Hilary Barrett - I Ching divination expert and author (books and online).

Question/Prompt: "So how does this second term end?"

Hexagram 62 – Xiao Guo "Small Exceeding", "Small Gains"

Small Exceeding is like a bird in flight: small, exposed and vulnerable as it crosses over a vast expanse of sky. It must come down and settle eventually, and even as it passes by and is gone, its call reminds you not to go against your nature and overreach yourself.

'Not going past, he defends himself. Someone following may strike him down. Pitfall.'

Hexagram 16 – Yu "Enthusiasm", "Celebration"

The Chinese word for 'enthusiasm' contains an elephant – a character that also means 'image'. The elephant is magnificent, strong, a source of delight – and also unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Imagination and anticipation move us with ease; with them, we can be motivated and inspired – or we can be carried away by the power of our own story.

(The Republican party's mascot is the elephant)
