Happiness to me is hearing a harmony that makes your heart melt. It’s feeling my chest vibrate when I sing. It’s seeing a regular at my coffee shop and being able to ask how their kids are doing. To me, happiness is living with love in your life whether it’s the love of a hobby or love towards people. Love definitely does make this world go round.

Three favourite Rooftop costumes:

The mint West End versions, ca. 2004-08. Wearers include Rachel Barrell, Robyn North and Celia Graham. They had a slighty different fabric than today’s version, more silvery and embroidered, and with lots of mint green and silver with a hint of pink. This is my all-time favourite.

The silvery German dresses, used in Essen 2006, Hamburg 2013-15 and Oberhausen 2015-16. Wearers include Anne Görner, Beatrix Reiterer, Valerie Link, Lauri Brons and Elizabeth Welch. The base is actually the same as the mint West End ones, down to identical materials in some, but they’re backed with a paler fabric, and has totally different decorations - more Rococo in style. I love these because of the strong 18th century vibes they have.

The lilac Broadway versions, ca. 2003-13. Wearers include Sandra Joseph, Samantha Hill and Jennifer Hope Wills. These are absolutely lush, delicate, shimmering, and very much like the costume design.
