it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!
love him. love him and let him love you. do you think anything else under heaven really matters? and how long, at the best, can it last? since you are both men and have everywhere else to go? only five minutes, only five minutes, and most of that helas! in the dark. and if you think of them as dirty then they will be dirty—they will be dirty because you will be giving nothing, you will be despising your flesh and his. but you can make your time together anything but dirty; you can give each other something which will make both of you better—forever—if you will not be ashamed, if you will only not play it safe...you play it safe long enough...and you'll end up trapped in your own dirty body, forever and forever and forever—like me.

“Spongebob: What do you usually do when I’m gone? Patrick: Wait for you to come back.”
obsessed w ilya in that tampa hotel room throwing all he has against shane’s persistence like you don’t like me/ don’t fucking do this/ we can’t be something/ i wouldn’t be able to go home again/ i don’t want to find out and none of it stops shane for even a second its truly shane’s unstoppable force vs. ilya’s extremely moveable object
Shane chasing Ilya's lips.
gnawing off my right arm thinking about how we saw all these little moments of shane and ilya during the ep 4 sex montage but we didnt see the moments that came after when they were slowly falling in love and didnt know it yet. the smiling into each other's mouths while climbing up the stairs that leads to stumbling into bed laughing and just the absolute fondness they have for each other and its happening so so slowly they dont even know... the moments that led ilya to plan the tuna melt scene... oh my god hollander still with these pillows. shut up my housekeeper arranges them. why are you still in your clothes. well i could get them off faster if you would just let GO of me. AAAAHHH it was happening it was happening to them Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
So, possible hot take here, but I think there's a broader issue surrounding the argument about Heated Rivalry and its cast/crew eligibility for awards and it's actually not really about awards. Do I think it would be cool if HR was eligible for the main Emmys? Yeah, because I love this show and think it should win all the awards and ALSO should be able to continue to beat Hollywood at its own game. That doesn't diminish any of the incredible achievements it's already accumulated, and certainly wouldn't mean MORE than it winning the top awards at home! I also think it would be cool for Connor to get the opportunity to be recognized somewhere for his work on the show as well, but acknowledge that is due to a gap in the system that I understand. I certainly don't think the Emmys should benefit from invoking HR for its own gain, especially since the show is ineligible to be honored and falls outside of its reach.
However, that all takes me to my hot take: we need to care less about awards and start looking at the real issues which are arts funding, and film and television production on an international level. The world is shitty right now politically and economically, which means that to varying degrees it's hard to get shit made ANYWHERE. Hollywood is nearing its final form as a bloated behemoth of billionaire shell companies burning through IP and churning out slop to line the pockets of the worst people on the planet, but the main consequence is that's where the money is. Creatives in Hollywood, especially POC, female, and queer creatives, are struggling to get work greenlit and the folks who work the bread-and-butter onset day jobs are finding themselves in a barren wasteland of shuttered studios. Canadian film and tv are struggling, too, losing the business of American productions injecting money into their industry and at the same time trying to protect the cultural identity of their own work. There is incredible work being done across the globe in a multitude of languages both with and without the scraps from the hoard of Hollywood wealth, and much if it won't be seen outside its country or region of origin.
We NEED a diverse global entertainment industry that isn't dependent on Netflix dollars or a billionaire producer. We need different film and television industries to maintain their identities without the stain of Hollywood Americanization. We need artists supporting each other and SHARING across borders because that is what art is about!
So the fight about awards is, to me, a symptom of the larger problem at hand. One that will probably only get worse as global wealth continues to be consolidated into a dwindling number of hands. But that's my two cents on the subject as an artist and actor and lover of tv and film.
Alright, I changed my mind. Episode 3 is good. And a necessary step to get to the ep 5 grande finale.
oh I'm ilya rozanov and I'm so tragic and I thought I'd die young wrapping my Porsche around a dunkin donuts drive thru but now I'm sucking the fingers of the most beautiful man on earth in his beautiful lakeside cottage while it rains outside.and I'm in it raw btw. KILL YOURSELF
