In your opinion how much do you think ib is actually recognized in universities around the world such as Ivy League schools because every ib coordinator I've talked to basically says ib is the gateway to Harvard but it's kind of their job to say things like that
It honestly depends on the school. You appear to be interested in the United States' Ivy League Schools, so in America, most schools will take I B credits similarly to AP credits. At state schools I believe you typically need a 4 or a 5 for university credit, while private schools require a 6 or 7. Harvard for example has a tendency of only taking 7s. I would look at the websites of the universities that you are interested in for these answers. For schools outside of the United States, IB is more commonly accepted and known about as there is no such thing as AP, but the standards are still generally high (in the 5-7 range). Honestly recognition depends on where you wish to attend, but the world (and finally the United States) generally recognizes the IB.
