I call this photo set "Spring Day in DC: The Solitary Artist (A Study on Monet) & Peak Bloom at the Washington Monument"
Good morning. 8:08am.
Exciting announcement! You can love something while still being critical of it! You can be a fan of something while still recognizing it as problematic!
Hobby: educating/yelling at straight people policing & questioning my feelings of fear, devastation, & dread over the murder of 49 queer people at an LGBT club. You can engage in a conversation with me about why I'm hurting, but you can't tell me I shouldn't be. You don't get to assume I'm not affected. You sure as hell don't get to erase the identity of my community to further a political agenda. What you get to do: stand with me. Stand with my community because we need you, so much more than we ever have.

Don't worry, I'm still alive. 💅🏻👑🌸
I just want to be remembered as that friend who loved Beyoncé.
Hobby: watching white gays on social media complain about how “Formation” makes them uncomfortable/is an unfair representation of police/is too political/isn’t as good as her old music. *sings* This song does not exist to make you feel cooomfortable.
I get Peyton Manning & Dakota Fanning confused.
I like art, and by art I mean music, poetry, sex, paintings, the human body, literature. All of this is art to me.

The idea that men can’t/shouldn’t have emotional capacity is sooo boring to me. “Boys don’t cry.” “Don’t be a little bitch.” “What, dude, are you on your period?” &, like, it’s often men that reinforce it! It’s fathers that tell sons not to cry. It’s teenage boys telling their friends not to be pussies. It’s this idea that emotions & feelings & the ability to express them are feminine, & if a man has the ability to emote, he’s either a sissy bitch or a faggot or whatever. Like, how tragic that we feel our masculinity is so important & so fragile that we’d rather bottle our shit up than have any sort of emotional expression which could cause us to be viewed as “weak.” Shut the hell up & get the hell over yourselves & cry. Let 2016 be the year that we up our standards for men being able to say what they’re feeling & stop playing so many games or acting like they’re immune to feelings.
Create, release, & learn. Don’t judge or dramatize. We are all trying to make art in one way or another.
