Gregory
Philip
Eloise
Francesca
Michaela
Someone else?
violet bridgerton + physical affection with her children.
3/8 - colin.
If Franchaela's season is really gonna be all about queer joy and whimsy and friends-to-lovers yearning, can we pleeeease get more of Michaela teasing Francesca for being a puzzle nerd, and Francesca making fun of Michaela for being short?
michaela stirling and colin bridgerton: the travellers.
Tip:
When it comes to stuff like racism, sexism, homophobia, etc, I’ve found it’s usually way better to think to yourself ‘I don’t want to be’ than ‘I’m not’.
I.e. if someone goes ‘that thing you just did is ableist’, instead of going ‘I’m not ableist, I don’t hate disabled people!’ it’s usually a lot better to go ‘I don’t want to be ableist, I should rethink what I’m doing/saying/etc in light of that fact’. Because that shifts your thinking so rather than jumping straight into denial and attempts to defend your character, you’re instead more inclined to look at how your actions could be misrepresenting your intentions. Or whether you’ve overlooked something, been callous, or acted in ignorance.
polin week 2026 ♡ day 3: penelope's birthday
For the record I’m still on season 2 🧎♂️
"Colin friendzoned Penelope" as a complaint or criticism is officially my villain origin story
They're friends to lovers. Friends. To lovers. As in. Friends, first. They were literal, actual children when they met. As in. 10 and 13. As in. Eating dirt on a playground. As in. Playing tag. As in. Babies. The fuck did y'all want him to do? Go 'oh damn, I simply MUST have that preteen as my wife'??? Toxic Heterosexuality has rotted some of y'all's brains to goop. She never went "hey, Colin, I want us to be in a romantic relationship" and he went "naaaaah but I still want the emotional girlfriend benefits from you tho". He just- cared for her genuinely and honestly. As a friend. Which they were.
Oh me oh my, how dare he see their platonic friendship as a platonic friendship and treat her as his friend. How horrible. How dare he value her as a person with no sexual or romantic expectation? Awful, awful man.
"Colin friendzoned Penelope" "Penelope was in the friendzone for so long!"
They were friends, Debra. That's kind of the whole fucking point.
ohhhhh that dance scene about to hit like crack
tell me why i'm literally tearing up at the cut polin dance scene LIKE YOU DONT GET IT the creators always say in interviews and bts snippets how the dances represent the characters and moments in their relationships so forgive me while i go slightly insane but that little arm twist movement thing when they turn is so. soft. so loving. and it's balanced and it's like they're equals and after they turn they they face each other, they come back to each other, always. because they're each other's forever.
that dance you GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME
Can I be brutally honest for a second? Shit like this pisses me off.
Fran is queer, but that doesn't mean she was attracted to Penelope. I'm so goddamn tired of Penelope being turned into the Bridgerton bicycle because y'all are mad fucking insecure about her actual storyline and need everyone to have been in love with her at some point in time because she's actually their OC and they need to project onto her. Fran and Penelope develop a good friendship. Queer women CAN be friends with women without being into them, y'all realize that? Fran has feelings for Michaela that she is trying to parse out but y'all NEED to take out of context stills of Fran with your favorite white woman to be seen as 'proof' of her queerness? You don't find that suss?
It's just so *annoying*. It feels desperate that people need Penelope to be this always desired goddess that everyone is obsessed with (just make an oc, omg) and it feels vaguely racist that the 'proof' of Fran's queerness cannot be the several moments we have with her *canonical* love interest Michaela, but are instead with a white woman who y'all find more palatable.
Hungry Franchaela
this fandom wants benedict to be colin SO. BAD
'ben's the free spirit!' when colin is the one who actually traveled
'ben's the artist!' when colin is the one who actually made a career out of his art and published
'ben's mr. fingerton' when colin was the one who had the viral fingering scene (sorry benny boy, you gave people the MASSIVE ick with yours)
'ben's unconventional' when colin is the one who has an actually unconventional marriage where his wife is a careerwoman and he supports her, as well as how colin is the only brother who rejected male gender roles in general
'ben's violet's favorite son' when colin is the one violet is always gravitating toward and who actually looked out for her
i'm sorry that benedict is basically an anthony lite and doesn't have much that makes him personally unique but that's not colin's problem and i'm kind of tired of pretending like this fanbase doesn't dunk on colin continuously just so they can prop up the dude who ACTUALLY has barely anything of interest to him save being Mayfair's gender neutral bicycle (non judgemental, just saying that's his claim to fame). the show decided to cut so much of colin out so they could give it to ben to make him more palatable and his fanbase STILL decided it wasn't enough
not sorry, but colin is the brother who makes the most sense to be eloise's favorite and the one who actually listens to her
not sorry, but colin is the brother who is the most romantic and poetic
not sorry, but colin is the brother who makes money from his art form
not sorry, but colin is the one who is the most feminist of the brothers
not sorry, but colin is the dependable one who is the glue in his family and is emotionally present and understanding
not sorry, but colin is the one who lives a love story most like his parents
not sorry, but colin is the one known for being good with his hands
not sorry, but colin is the one who has the best relationship with his mum
find things you like about benedict without bringing colin into the conversation. the fact that there's nothing about ben that has stood out to give him a unique nickname of his own is telling enough in and of itself
I just re-watched the scene where Colin is telling Penelope "I don't really care if "Marina" had feelings for another, It would be rich if I flirted with half the women in London at a point or another.
It's so interesting thinking about that line. Colin didn't have the urgency to kiss Marina even if he was a virgin in S1. If Colin really had the urgency to kiss her, he would have.
Then we get to Season 3 and Colin comes into town flirting with all these women publicly. When Penelope asks for one kiss he does it and even kisses her again unlike Marina when he stops himself. Colin also DOES CARE when Penelope has found feelings for another he is Extremely Jealous and completely loses himself. He also has no interest in flirting with women anymore they will walk up to him and try flirting but he just looks away. He will talk normally and give advice like "what gave you the courage to be so brave" but he is not flirting with them anymore. There is a stark difference infatuation and Love!
Just for some Bridgerton fans still saying oh Colin loved Marina and only got with Penelope because he couldn't have Marina. It's literally written in the show the difference he felt for both women.
Completely agree, he literally says out loud in screen "It has never felt mike this before."
But you know, that would require people to listen and pay attention.
