The bland cup of coffee should have served as a bad omen, leaving Lavender’s nose wrinkling when she set the mug down. She had opted for giving the new situation a chance though and was quick to discover things were rather disappointing. Bland looking bathrooms, no hairbrush, and no makeup in sight. It was quite the travesty for the newly returned teenager.
“The room of requirement had a better living situation than this,” She muttered once she exited the bathroom, taking a moment to look over the others that appeared to share the same fate as her. There were few familiar faces - the few people she recognized counting as people she doubted would want to deal with her or her antics.
“Right,” She called out when she neared one of the other returned, having grown tired of aimlessly wandering in an attempt at getting a feel of the new space. “Is there anything to do for fun in here or are they deliberately giving us nothing to do to see if one of us dies of boredom?”

Looking up at his former pupil as she addressed him, Remus’s surprise quickly changed into a wry smile. “I think you’ll find rather quickly that the Ministry has little thought for more than the bottom line. They’ve given us as much thought as they can reasonably get by with, and that certainly doesn’t include anything as extraneous as entertainment.” He shook his head. “Hell, it took a riot for them to give us tea and coffee, Merlin forbid they go so far as to offer a few books.”
He’d never given Lavender much thought before, beyond her being another Gryffindor in Harry’s year. It wasn’t anything against her per se, but he attempted to keep a professional distance from most of his students (yes, yes, there were exceptions). Now though, he was no longer a professor, and he’d already heard the whispers of what had happened to her.
Greyback. It was enough that they were in a situation unique to only those around them, but then there was also this demon to share. A nightmare that Remus wouldn’t have wished on anyone. He wasn’t certain how or if she was coping with the situation, but if she wanted someone to talk to then he certainly wasn’t going to turn her away.
