@three-dreamers
Borsalino walked into their home quickly with his hat pulled over his head. His steps shuffled towards his room, obviously hiding something. The child had been gone all day for some reason, but he quickly tried to ignore Red when he passed by her.
Red let out a sigh of relief when Borsalino came through the door, he’d been out all day long, she wasn’t sure why but didn’t want to ask too many questions, she didn’t mind him having a few little secrets, but going off all day without a word of notice was something she disliked.
"Don’t think you can sneak past me, young man. Back down those stairs and into the kitchen please." She yelled from the kitchen as she finished washing the dishes from dinner "And don’t forget to bring whatever it is you’re trying to hide. Ya can’t hide much from your mother, sweetie."
He was looking down at the floor the entire time with guilt from trying to hide the wounds from her. Borsalino took the cup into his hands and sipped it carefully. It tasted really good. “Um… Well, I was walking to the library and then they showed up. The called me a bastard because I lived with the monster in these woods…” he looked at Red. “I think they were talking about you so I told them to stop.” the child moved a hand to his black eye. “Then they beat me, but Sakazuki came and chased them away so its okay now~”
Monster. That word seemed to follow her everywhere she went, now even the children of the town were picking on her offspring because of her. After all he’d done to keep that town safe this is how she’s repaid.
"They obviously aren’t very bright, what’d they think would happen if they pick on someone who lives with a monster?" She purred grabbing a container of berries from the fridge "We’re gonna get this sorted tomorrow, then I’m gonna start teaching you self defense and how to use your devil fruit ability."
"Alright… Thank you~" the child said taking another sip of the hot cocoa. Borsalino waited on the counter and when she came back there where tears streaming down his cheeks. "I hate feeling this weak…" Borsalino cried softly into his hands.
"Everyone starts out weak, I was weak once, could hardly fight off a Weedle, let alone find my own food, but all you gotta do is train and be patient and soon you won’t be weak anymore." She smiled giving him a gentle hug, making sure to watch she didn’t touch his bruises "Once we figure out your devil fruit ability those bullies wont be able to hurt you again."
Borsalino sniffled and nodded his head. “Okay!” the child smiled and hugged her back. He got off the counter and went to his room to put on a new shirt, one that wasn’t covered in dirt. The child came back down a little later and went to Red. “Can we train now~?”
While Borsalino went up to his room Red got the first aid kit and began mashing up some berries “We’ll start training tomorrow, you need to rest for a while. Also, invite your friends over, it’ll do you three boys well to learn some new skills.”
The child smiled and giggled. "Thank you so much~!!" he reached in for another hug.

Borsalino frowned when he walked into his room. The child looked in the mirror and there it was. A big black bruise had formed around his eye, but thankfully it wasn’t too swollen. He had a cut on his lip that stung painfully whenever his lip moved. He had gotten into a fight, well it wasn’t really a fight. He was beaten by the kids in the neighborhood, but Sakazuki had chased them away thankfully. The child looked at his arms and legs, they too where covered in bruises.
He heard mom call for him and Borsalino rummaged through his drawers until he found pair of black sunglasses. Hopefully she wouldn’t notice. The child walked down stairs and forced a smile on his face even though the cut on his lip hurt. “Sorry~”
She sighed and shook her head when she saw him, she could pretty much tell what had happened from one look at him “Come here, we gotta get your lip sorted out and some ice on that black eye.” She muttered lifting him onto the kitchen counter and going to the freezer, coming back with a packet of frozen meat she handed it to him “I’m gonna make some hot chocolate for you, and then you’re gonna tell me everything that happened. I want their names and areas they live in.” Red sighed kissing the top of his head gently.
Once she’d made him a mug of hot chocolate she set it down beside him and smiled softly, in the time it’d taken her to make the drink she’d formed a plan in her head “Now, what happened?”

Xavier stared down at his blood coated hands, before glancing at the body in front of him, he hadn’t meant to do it, all he wanted was to make the nasty human go away, now he’d killed someone “I..I.....
The child coughed and sputtered as the flow of energy passed over him. Soon he could move and breath. The blood was gone along with the pain that had burdened his body only moments before. He hated this. He hated it so much. Borsalino had no power to help his family. He felt that his whole existence was just a burden to Red. "Xavior..."
Borsalino was determined to help them in any way he could. That was the job of a older brother he was willing to take. "You're such an idiot~" Borsalino giggled slightly as he stood up and picked up his younger brother. He walked for what seemed like hours. The extra weight on his back caused his knees to tremble from exhaustion, but the stubborn boy kept walking with Xavior on his back.
He didn't like feeling weak and useless. Every step felt as if he had blocks of concrete fitted onto his feet, completely and utterly exhausting. "Ah-" the child couldn't stop his knees from crashing into the hard dirt when a sinister root had tripped him. "Ouch..." Blood oozed from a gash on both knees. Where is he? What is going on? Why is everything spinning?
This wasn't normal even for exhaustion. Something was seriously wrong. Xavior was still sleeping and Borsalino couldn't force himself back onto his feet. Wha- What is going on? His lungs forced out access blood in a series of violent coughs. The child's innocent eyes widened at the sight of the crimson liquid. Didn't Xavior heal him? All the strength drained out of him as he slumped to the floor, slowly dying. He was dying. Healing Wish couldn't heal him.
Tears stained his eyes. D-damnit... Borsalino opened his mouth before he passed out in a last effort for help, "Please... Help me..." his eyes shut and everything went black for the child. But he didn't know that Red had heard him and her little feet carried her as fast as she could to the scene. Even though Borsalino was weak, he was still breathing when she arrived.
