"That's Blakeshaw fic." Wrong. Cut ending from Joe Hill's short story of Finney unable to move on and returning over and over again to the house.
Do you think it was Al on the phone? 😏👉👈
His last name 'Cross' made me wonder where the surname 'Shaw' actually came from in the first place. And which one is more canonical then. Damn, I'm confused…
I've been thinking about this for a long time. I don't know if that spinoff is still canon, but I like to think it is. Just like the fact that Finney and Gwen's mother's brother looks like Max's twin wasn't just for the actor's cameo. So, I have a theory.
I also think Hope might not have known she was Albert's sister since she grew up in a different town.
Wait, there's more TBP movies??? What?? Where??? 0_0
The movie isn't technically TBP, but it was created by Scott Derrickson (writer/director of BP1/BP2) as an extension of the universe. I just did a writeup about it here. It's one part of an anthology movie, V/H/S/85, and the "Dreamkill" segment Scott made features Hope's brother Bobby and his son Gunther, Finn and Gwen's cousin. There's not a lot to it, but it is fun to have more of TBP. I have fun.
Wait, so Albert is… technically Finney's uncle?

i really enjoyed playing with the stylisation and texture for this one, and i think it turned out rad <3
An AU where the black phone on the basement wall was never actually broken. It 'worked'.
There is no mysticism behind the calls Finney answers. It isn't the ghosts of the murdered boys trying to reach him from the afterlife — it is a twisted game played by Albert himself. He meticulously recorded the voices of his previous victims, only to dial the basement later and play back those tapes. Have you ever wondered why the ghostly boys keep repeating the same phrases over and over? They are nothing more than looped fragments of old recordings.
Albert wasn't just keeping Finney captive; he was nurturing him with false hope. While Finney genuinely believed he was finding allies and fighting for survival — whether digging a tunnel or reaching for the window — every single move was orchestrated. Albert scripted the entire 'escape' himself. He knew every attempt beforehand, deriving a sadistic pleasure from watching a butterfly desperately battering its wings against the glass of a jar, driven by a manufactured illusion of freedom.
stupid sexy albert
Most people tend to project themselves onto their favorite ships, subconsciously taking the place of one character while assigning the second to a potentially 'ideal' partner. This allows them to safely experience things that may be impossible or missing in real life.
Poll: Which character in the blakeshaw ship do you identify with more?

Albert
Finney
Neither / I identify with characters in other ships
I don't identify with anyone at all
Simple content consumption is no longer enough. I need to watch the movie at 0.25 speed, analyzing every pixel on the screen for the sake of blakeshaw.
just get in the basement bro for fucks sake
