3 Simple Makeup Tips
Here are some simple makeup tips that anyone can use!
1. Baby oil is literally the best makeup remover. It’s incredibly cheap (a dollar or so at any Walmart), lasts a long time and goes a long way, actually moisturizes your skin (unlike most makeup wipes), and is safe and nontoxic to use (so go ahead and use it for eye makeup, lips, whatever you want!). Put a little bit on your hands, rub where needed, and bam--makeup and body paint no more!
2. Baby powder is a great sealer; applying it with any cheap makeup brush will help seal in body paint or makeup on a budget. It is also safe to use and won’t ruin your skin or your wallet. If you don’t want to use it for makeup purposes, baby powder will also help you reduce the shininess in cheaper wigs (more on that later).
3. We recommend buying cheaper makeup products like Elf or Wet n’ Wild if you’re on a budget. These products tend to work just as well as more expensive ones but for a far cheaper price, which means you can get more of them and experiment with what you like and don’t like. This also means that if you want to invest in higher quality makeup products in the future, you’ll know which ones to get and which you really don’t need.
These are just a few of our tips--stay tuned for more!
Well it's been a while but you know how life gets busy! Here's our latest creation, and although it's not a cosplay in particular, we thought we'd share it. We made a DIY candy cauldron for Halloween using a thrift store cauldron, cheap glitter glue for the spiders, dollar Walmart fabric for the magic coming out of it, and hot glue to attach the fabric and create awesome spiderwebs! Happy Halloween you guys and safe trick or treating!
Welcome to the blog!
Hi everybody! Welcome to our thrifty cosplay and convention blog. We are two college students (known on here as Haruhi and Tamaki) who know what it’s like to want to cosplay but not be able to afford everything.
Tamaki is a lot more experienced than I am, but together we make a great team! We’re hoping to share some of our advice with you guys and help you out with your cosplays, especially if you’re beginners like me. Send us an ask anytime, and we’ll be happy to respond--all are welcome here!
