do research !! i cannot stress this enough. and no , reaching out to someone of that identity and asking for help isn’t it. if you’re on here , you also have google and folks are not obligated to be your marginalized encyclopedia.

being respectful > aesthetics ( also , a reminder that the aesthetics on here are extremely whitewashed and also inaccessible )

if you fuck up , apologize and do better. no excuses , no woe is me , just suck it up. if you think you feel bad , imagine how much it sucks to see someone playing carelessly with your identity.

i’ve started the process of coming out again. after about two years of identifying as a lesbian , i’ve realized that it may not completely reflect who i am. i’ve decided that i identify more with the term queer. i know that not everyone approves of the word , but it’s where i feel most able to exist authentically as myself. 

we are constantly changing and growing , we are constantly learning about ourselves. it doesn’t invalidate a sexuality to realize that you no longer feel like it reflects you. it doesn’t make you a liar or bad person. these are all things i’ve been struggling to come to terms with for , lbr , the better half of the year.
