[Des smiles at Fern and waves slightly. Fern waves back shyly.]

[They both nod. Ferns tail is tucked slightly and they look nervous again but not as bad as before.]

[Fern moves to cling to Outis slightly.]

[Des goes to sit on the floor on his knees so he wasn't as scary.]

Wanna go say hi? I'll be right beside you, Des won't hurt you

[Des sits patiently with a gentle smile.]

[Fern looks up at Outis.]

He's safe, Fern. I promise

[Des remembers the talkative coyote that Fern used to be. Energetic and outgoing, not scared of anything, least of all strangers. Theres a pang of hurt in him looking at the shell of that child now.]

[Fern nods slowly.]

[Outis sits down, not too close to Des but not too far away, allowing Fern to sit next to zim and at whatever distance they'd like]

[Fern hesitantly sits a little bit farther away from Outis, still within reaching distance if they wished but not super close. They wave at Des]

[Des softly smiles and waves back. He keeps his movements within their sight and gentle, slow as to not scare it further.]

[Outis lets them go at their own pace, looking down to not appear like they're judging]

[Fern looks between the two of them and slowly relaxes.]

"Y-You were Meikos brother...right...?"

[Des smiles softly.] "I am" [Theres no hurt when he says it, just kindness towards the young teen sitting away from him.]

[Ze smiles as they listen]

[Des turns to Outis]

"You're really good at finding people in the forest, hm"
