[Fern is hiding, peeking out to look around every now and then. There doesn't seem to be anyone around. Its eyes dart all around them, a small dagger in their hand.]

[They hadn't heard zim approach and they jump a bit, turning and flattening their ears. They growl a bit but stop when they see its just Outis.]

"Sorry-" [They apologize immediately.]

[Fern cautiously looks around and puts their dagger back on their hip]

Are you okay?

"I-I think so....theres was a lady and she just....didn't feel right"

"Uh....she had dark hair and had lots of gold stuff"

"Uh...somethin with an M?"

[They try to think]

"Marcelene...? Maybe...? I ran away from her- it felt wrong."

[Their face goes blank, a dim red glow from zis eyes starting]

[They scoot closer and tug on his sleeve with concern]

I'm going to kill her I swear- not letting her take more family.

[They tug zis sleeve again, more insistantly]

[They look down at them, anger at Marc fading when ze looks at them]

[They make a small whine. They don't sound scared, just concerned for zim]

[They sigh and take a deep breath, red fading]

[Fern looks concerned. They tilt their head.]

[Fern pounces on a mouse and pauses, looking around. Their ears flatten as they smell someone else.]

[Marcelene keeps watching before stepping out]

"You're a good hunter."

[They stand up and back away immediately.]

"Who are you- what do you want?"

[Fern zones in on the dagger on her hip]

[She steps forward.]

"Marcelene. I'm Marcelene. And you are?"

[They stay behind the tree. A twig snaps.]

[His own blue eyes light up as he smiles]

[He gets up and puts the rock halfway between them and goes back to where he was]

[They step out from behind the tree. They have dark fluffy ears and a fluffy tail. They look like they're in their early teens. 14 maybe. They watch Osc, moving to get the rock, grabbing it quickly.]

[He pulls the :0 face]

[They grab the rock and move back a bit.]

[He smiles]

"What d'you mean...?" [Fern stays back but doesn't go behind the tree again. There was no point in hiding now.]

Youre a bit more animal shaped!

[He smiles, showing little tusks]

"Oh...yeah...um...i'm a coyote..."

"Cool..." [They fidget with the rock]

[He tilts his head]

"Mhm..." [They don't take their eyes off Oscar but they sit on the grass]

[Osc smiles again before putting his hand back in the water]

I like the water.. its weird but i like how it feels

[They watch him before moving slightly closer]

I couldnt touch the lava- but i think it might feel like this..

"Lavas too hot..." [They mumble.]

Yeah.. i can touch magma blocks tho- as long as theyre wrapped in blankets- they keep me warm when it gets cold

[They nod slightly. They hesitate before moving to the edge of the water, still a bit away from Oscar.]

"I...um...I dunno..." [Fern hadn't had friends in a long time. They hadn't had anyone in a long time.]

[Osc lays down, looking at the clouds, his hand still in the water]

[Fern looks at him, debating something before splashing him slightly.]

[He giggles and sits up to splash them back]

[They smile, giggling slightly.]

[He flicks a tiny bit more water at it]

[They giggle more. Their fluffy tail wags slightly.]

[Fern splashes him again.]

[Oscar giggles and splashes back]

[Ferns tail wags.]

[He giggles, his own tiny tail wiggling]

[Fern smiles, fidgeting with the rock Oscar gave them. They reach in their bag and pull out a flower to offer him.]

[He pulls the :0 face and put it on his ear]

[They nod and look at the water.]

[He starts playing with the water again]

[Fern fidgets with a bracelet on their wrist. Their tail curls next to them.]

[Osc tilts his head]

Whenever Aphie’s upset her tail does that..

"Aphie...?" [Fern tilts their head.]

My lil’ sister.. her tail does that when she’s upset, are you okay?

"Oh...I didn't even realize I did it..." [It looks at their tail and "fixes" it.] "Yeah 'm fine"
