News: Bessatsu Shonen January 2018 Issue (100th Issue/SnK Chapter 100 Anniversary)

Original Release Date: December 9th, 2017 Retail Price: 620 Yen

Kodansha has released the cover of Bessatsu Shonen’s January 2018 issue, featuring Erwin, Levi, Hanji, Eren, & Jean (Note: Exact ranking unconfirmed, but likely in that order) as the winners of the latest SnK Character Popularity Poll, drawn by Isayama Hajime! This issue will contain SnK Chapter 100. Fun fact: SnK is the only current series within Bessatsu Shonen to have also debuted with the magazine’s first issue (Check out the first issue/first chapter here)!

Also included with the issue is an exclusive clear file and special colored paper. The magazine itself will contain SnK-inspired artwork drawn by all of Bessatsu’s other mangaka, as part of celebrating both the magazine’s anniversary and the SnK milestone!

The previous Bessatsu cover featuring a popularity poll result was the May 2015 issue with Levi (Winner), Eren, and Erwin! All previous poll results can be found here.

CARP's Victory thanks to Erwin Smith?!

In a recent interview with the Japanese Professional Baseball Team, CARP, they reveal that Erwin’s line in a Choice with no Regrets played a part in their victory. Erwin’s line made it into a Japanese local newspaper!

Erwin said this to Levi, who just joined the Survey Corps, “Enough. Don’t regret. The thought of regret will weaken your next decision. Then, you will entrust the decision to others” [omission] “No one will know what the result will be. One decision is meaningful when it is used as an ingredient for the next decision”.

Even if you seek an opinion or advice from the coach, the decision is made by oneself. If not, it will end with blaming failure on others.
