Thought it might be time for something of an introduction. I’m Robert Reynolds, or usually just Bob.
I once was somewhat considered a “hero” but my broken psyche was taken advantage of. The Sentry is a memory now.
I’m not good by any means, but I don’t want to be a monster. I’m not fully in control of myself all the time.

Home, armed with fabric, milkshakes, and a blunt between my teeth, I drop our haul on the living room floor and plop down next to it. Then, I smile up at Robert. "Alright, hot stuff, you ready to get cozy?"

He looked down at everything, scanning over it for a moment before looking back at them, smiling to himself a bit and gently sitting down “I think? I don’t know i’m not sure really”
"We will make you cozy yet," I promise, nudging his shoulder with my own. "What are you in the mood to see? The Princess Bride, Clue, Hush? Im game for whatever."
He wrapped an arm around them and leaned into them a bit as he listened “Whatever you want, you know i’m not good with these decisions”
"I know, but i still want you to enjoy your time," I lean back, mirroring him with love. I slip a hand under his shirt, tracing the dip of his back with gentle fingers. "Clue, then? Comedy and spooky?"
He nodded as he allowed himself to settle into it a bit more, turning his head towards them and letting his eyes trace over their features before focusing back on the task at hand “Sounds good”
"Dont do that," I warn, a mischievous glint sparking in my eyes. "You look at me like that, and im gonna get very distracted during the movie."
Crossing my legs, I take the first fabric and shake it out, smoothing it onto the floor in front of us. I had made sure to get an extra amount of it to make a blanket big enough for the two of us to share. Then I layer the second fabric on top of it.
He nodded and adverted his gaze back to the fabric, watching as they moved it. Biting down on his lip slightly and fidgeting with the hem of his shirt as he focused on it “This is all new to me, sorry if I screw up”
"Its all apart of the process, baby. And you know what?" I stop adjusting the fabric and turn to him. I take his hands in mine and squeeze them, then use my fingers to guide his chin and his gaze to mine. "That will make it unique and ours. And I think thats gonna be real special."
He smiled a little not fully convinced but nodded anyways before turning his gaze away again “I don’t know if special would be the word I use for it but whatever you say, you’re the expert here”
"Hey," I duck to follow his gaze, refusing to let go of the taut tone he used. "Talk to me, Robbie. What's wrong? You seem more blue since we got home."
He grinned a bit seeing them still keep his gaze and moved his hand to tug at his sleeve slightly “Sorry, nothings wrong, actually everything’s fine, just following your lead”
There was still a small stone of doubt in my stomach as I searched him for lies. But I cave, nodding and squeezing him once more. I could only help if he was willing to recieve it.
I grab the remote to turn on our TV and pull up Clue. Once the movie was set and I turned on the subtitles, I settle back next to Bob. "Let's cut the corners of the fabric first. Maybe 2 inch squares?"
He nodded and took the scissors carefully and strategically determined the size to cut out, taking extra care with making it as perfect as he could “This’ll probably be my favorite blanket since it’ll be made with you”
I swear, for a second, I melt right then and there. I watch him cut, but from any other person's perspective, my eyes were shaped like hearts. "Then we will sew as much love as we can into it. Every knot."
He smiled a bit at that and leaned over to give them a quick kiss “Sometimes I think your sound even cornier than I do most of them time, which is impressive”
"And you won't tell a soul. Ive got a reputation to keep!" They push him by the shoulder and snort. Shifting on their crossed legs and getting to work cutting strips into the blanket's edge.
He nodded keeping his expression neutral before they turned away and he couldn’t help but smile, pretty much forgetting the task at hand as he watched them carefully
Ava: Go and tell Bucky why you insisted on putting a normal-sized carrot in a bag of baby carrots.
Bob: …
Ava: Do it, tell him what you told me earlier.
Bob, stuttering: I-it’s because… th-they need adult supervision…

Bob Reynolds headcanon: if he had support and care in childhood he would have finished school and studied to be an engineer.
I think he is smart enough but more importantly would have had the determination with the support and care he needed, and engineering seems to fit his disposition.
In the attic scene you can see him fidgeting with a Rubik's cube and there's a toaster behind him; I don't think these are random details, and maybe he does just like to fidget to distract himself from his environment at home, but he probably likes to take things apart and put them together again.
This is in keeping with his comic lore (although MCU can deviate from that significantly), that he's a highly intelligent machine builder. I don't think that's necessarily what he will become, just another path he could have taken in another life and likely has the potential for.
