Do you have headcanons for Nora's relationship with Phoebe and Max?
Ooh this is a great ask because I have an idea for a Max and Nora team-up for a fic mainly because I think their relationship is so interesting!
It was touched upon a few times in the og show how after Max, Nora would probably be the one to possibly become evil if it came down to it, but no one ever really pushed her to her limits like Max was (Nora got to grow up with her best friend - Max was pitted against his twin his entire life).
I really love the Cookie Mistake episode mainly because Max and Nora are vibing and being like oh why don't we hang out together more? until they realize that they're bad influences on each other and without Phoebe and Billy around respectively they tend to make bad decisions. Like these two would absolutely take over the world together. They're both sassy and don't really care about following rules all that much and I would love it if the new movie actually touches on their similarities a bit more.
I think they still don't hang out as much together by themselves, mostly because the circumstances usually don't allow it - Nora is either away or living at home, Max is living with Phoebe and Chloe, there's always someone else around - but also they've definitely gone overboard over the years and they try to keep the balance. Phoebe and Billy are aware and keeping an eye out.
But then! They would also do what needs to be done. They have less inhibitions than everyone else and sometimes they need to take certain risks, especially as superheroes that I think Phoebe and Billy would hesitate on.
At the same time, Phoebe and Nora got more episodes together, but it was mostly generic - a bit more Phoebe and Nora and Billy and everyone else rather than the two of them teaming up.
I think Nora loves to go up against Max or Max and Phoebe as a duo, but she actually gets along just fine with Phoebe. Like there were definitely moments throughout the years and especially when Nora was younger that the two would just spend time together and Nora loved her big sister wanting to hang out with her. Also Phoebe definitely encouraged her to do the supersemester abroad because she thought it would be a great experience for her.
Also for all the jabs Nora will throw at them and their superhero accomplishments, she definitely looks up to them too. Like, does she think they're being stupid most of the time? Yes, of course. Does she also think they will get the job done? Absolutely.
When they're in danger and Max and Phoebe are supposed to take care of it she says "oh my god we're going to die" while breathing a sigh of relief because they'll probably make it back home in time for dinner.
Hello! Can I ask you what do you think about Phoebe and Max as characters? Do you think that their characterization in The Thundermans Undercover matches the character development and the personalities that were built during the original show? Also, also, do you have any unpopular opinion about the show? (Sorry! I am just hoping for this show to have a fandom again, hahah!)
Oh my god, please never ever apologize, I would love for the show to have a more energetic fandom as well! Also the way I immediately stopped everything I was doing when I saw this ask is insane, thank you😂
Okay, so many thoughts about everything😅
I have probably said it before, but I will definitely say it again - Max has always been my favorite. Love the character, love the inner struggle, love the arc one hundred percent. I've always liked Phoebe too, how dorky she is, her own struggle with perfectionism and being a superhero and how sometimes going against the rules might be the right thing to do and honestly I love how she's always so ready to do whatever it takes for the people she cares about - even outside of superhero duties - because she genuinely enjoys helping out people, but I think I've also always been a little disappointed with how they wrote some of her storylines. I think the main issue is that this is a kid's show and so many things will be played off for laughs or not really thought through because "it's not supposed to be this deep" but there have been certain lines here and there in a few arcs with Max or certain conversations that should have happened and never did that would have been so perfect to give them closure, but the show was usually like "haha, that's fine" or "it's all Max's fault, bye" (shout out to "Thunder in Paradise" for touching upon the fact that Phoebe's need to be in control of everything can turn against her).
I think the movie did a good job of going a bit further into that whole thing with both of them admitting that even though they are a team now and they work together, they still haven't moved past all the insecurities they have when it comes to one another - Max has always been intimidated by Phoebe to the point where he decided to be a supervillain just to not have to compete for the number one spot, but now he's like, maybe I can just be popular and that will be okay. And Phoebe who was used to being the best at everything her whole life suddenly had to face the fact that her brother is just as good as a superhero and that is throwing her off balance because what does she have left then? And sure, we will never go into too much angsty detail about all of that because it is supposed to be a light-hearted kid's show, but I think they did the best they could and I was pleasantly surprised with the portrayal. The characters still felt like the ones we know and they still have issues they need to overcome that feel real and they make sense because yes, their lives changed drastically, they are now adults, they're not magically okay with everything.
My number one reason I liked the original show has always been the brother - sister relationship between Max and Phoebe. The episodes that focus on them are usually really good, I think they did a great job with how they evolved and changed throughout the seasons and how they went from "I don't want to be associated with you" to "hey, do you want to be a superhero team from now on because I do" like yes, love everything about it. And I love love that they didn't really change their personalities in order to get there or the way they interact - Phoebe is still all about the rules and Max is still ignoring everything that has to do with rules and they clash on so many things but they also work together so great (which has been repeatedly proven) because the other always has their back (also loved that that was - usually - true even when Max was still a supervillain). They still bicker all the time in the new show ("we don't fight, we bicker. it's like arguing, but cuter" is probably my favorite line about them) and they make fun of each other and they prank each other but at the same time there is an obvious change in their dynamic when it comes to how they work as a team.
I was really excited for the new show, although I was definitely worried about how they were going to go about it, but I think so far I have not been disappointed. Again, I am here for the Max and Phoebe of it all and I like that they have not regressed them all the way back to how they were as teenagers. When you are an adult on a kid's show, you can't be fully serious, there needs to be a silliness about the characters, play a bit more into extremes - and I am not against it - but I was worried that they might take them all the way back to the beginning even after things changed in the og show finale and the movie conclusion. I think so far there's been a nice balance, I enjoy the bickering and I love how they keep showing them actually working together BECAUSE THEY WANT TO (I need to scream about the summer episodes so much, but I am patiently waiting until they are all out on Nickelodeon as well before I throw myself into fanfic writing so I don't accidentally spoil anything). Also special shout out to Undercover 1x09 for actually making them say that they do enjoy spending time with each other even if they won't necessarily admit it to themselves😅
Also, side note - I love how both Phoebe and Max are always the last ones standing when it comes to defending one another. There have been so many instances where everyone (the rest of their family included) has been ready to give up and Phoebe and Max have stepped up and be like, actually no. Although I do have issues with "Secret Revealed", Phoebe was still the one who stepped up in the end and talked to Max before he changed his mind. In "Thunder in Paradise" everyone was like, well, Phoebe is evil now, absolutely nothing we can do and Max never once took no for an answer and figured out a way to save her.
I don't really think I have any unpopular opinions about the show💀 Maybe things I didn't particularly agree with but they are mostly things I've seen other people talk about as well - mainly how Max sometimes gets to be the scapegoat about everything bad happening and not getting any credit for other stuff. That is one of my grievances with the show actually, that they gave him so much personality and back story and sometimes they don't carry it through. His insecurities when it comes to Phoebe and not being good enough, his obsession with being evil even though he chooses his family and friends every step of the way, him doing the evil thing (usually to Phoebe's expense) and then feeling so bad about it that he tries to make it up to her (also shout out to 3x08 "floral support" from the og show, I will forever love it), trying to make the right choice and still not being believed- There have been so many good setups but a lot of them have not been carried through (which is why I also have so many feelings about the new summer episodes, but again I am trying to not spoil anything, I am not sure how many people have actually seen the last two😅).
I was talking to my friend the other day about the show - she has never seen it, never will, she knows nothing about the characters, but I need someone to talk to about them😅 - and how the characters have so much potential for angsty storylines with the way they are written, but I doubt the show will ever actually fully see it through because once again, kid's show etc etc, and she asked me why don't I watch something else then if I know that won't happen? Like, a genuine question, she was curious to know. And I was trying to explain that yes, certain angsty storylines and trauma experienced by the characters will never be acknowledged more, sure, but the characters are still so good and their interactions are so good and there is something about the relationship between Max and Phoebe that is portrayed so well and I want to see more of them and you know what, sometimes they might delve a bit more into the serious stuff and sometimes we do get conversations and apologies and reconciliations and honestly, their evolution from Thundermans 1x01 to now has been really good in my opinion and I am here for any crumbs they want to give us - and then they end up giving us so much more than I expect and I don't know what to do with it, like honestly the last scene of Undercover 1x18 might be one of my favorite scenes between the two of them, I did not expect that - and honestly? In the end of the day, I enjoy writing fanfiction so I am totally here for writing the angst and character study myself if needed, for me and anyone else who might be interested😅
Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin +more of the cast at the movie premiere of "The Thundermans Return" in California yesterday!
I wanna talk about the outfits, because Kira and Jack both look so elegant and are clearly matching with the blue theme and then there's Diego X'D. I just imagine Phoebe and Max clearly coordinating their outfits (+never admitting it) and shining at every event in Metroburg, while everyone else just goes in whatever they feel is fitting. Also this video loaded for ages. Still worth it.

How Was Your Date? (Max Thunderman x GN!Reader)
Summary: Max gets home from his date with you, and his family can tell how it went just from how he's acting, but they ask anyways. Pronouns: You/Yours, They/Them Warnings: None, Pure Fluff Word Count: 1.2k A/N: Max is my bias, my muse, I love him I fear!
I headcanon that a big part of why Max ended up thinking he wasn’t as good as Phoebe is that Max is too smart. He’s a genius who builds crazy inventions at only 14. Which means that in school he was bored. So he didn’t pay attention. He acted out. Thus he got labeled as a problem child.
Phoebe is smart but she’s good at reciting facts. Her science fair projects come from building models she finds in textbooks. Max has out of the box, original ideas. He can create gadgets from scratch. But being young his early stuff didn’t work when he showed people (the Grow-matic) and so people think of his inventions of not being good. Max has to have knowledge in specialized areas to build the stuff he does. Temporal mechanics, lasers, human anatomy, micro biology. He has to have an understanding of these complex concepts and more to create a lot of his inventions.
Phoebe has learned a lot and could probably skip a few grades but she doesn’t come up with the crazy stuff Max does. She learns what other people have written. She doesn’t make new discoveries herself. She’s also a rule follower. If a teacher assigns a chapter to read in a textbook, Phoebe will read it even if she already knows the material. She will be just as interested and involved the first time a teacher goes over something as she is the 100th. Max on the other hand only learns about stuff he’s interested in. He’s already far advanced in science and math compared to his peers. And he just doesn’t care who won the War of 1812. So he doesn’t care about school. And while he likes learning he sees a distinction between gathering information for an invention versus studying. Studying means school work which he doesn’t like.
Phoebe fit into the boxes that everyone thinks are good. She always kept inside the lines that society deemed acceptable. So she is considered the good twin. While Max is just as good but he didn’t fit neatly into a box. He didn’t do homework or pay attention in class the way he should have. So he was considered that bad/trouble making twin. And their parents were influenced by teachers and society to think of Phoebe as doing right while Max was the one always getting sent to the principals office.
The world was always comparing them and they got trapped in their labels.
Maybe one day I’ll write the AU I have in my head where early on a teacher recognizes Max’s genius and he gets put into a specialized program where his talents are harnessed instead of ignored. This makes Max the child everyone thinks will go on to do great things and has all the expectations foisted on him while Phoebe lives in his shadow thinking she’s just mediocre compared to her genius brother.
My colossos
+ 1 sketch thing from a couple years ago
thinking about phoebe being a perfectionist in the way that means she can’t do anything halfway and always has to be right and gets combative and defensive when she’s not the best at something and max being a perfectionist in the way that means he’d rather fuck it up on purpose than actually try and get it wrong and acts like he doesn’t care so it matters less and how they’re mirrors of each other in everything……..
Continued promotion for the new Thundermans movie with Kira and Jack!
Thundertwins failed mission aftermath or something.
It's 2am and they just realised there are no busses that can get them home. As Phoebe's ankle is bruised, their forced to sit it out for now. As the night is cold, Phoebe claims the jacket Max took of during the fight as her own. Max didn't care untill he rememberd the candy's he kept in his pocket but he keeps quiet in the hope Phoebe won't catch on to em. A small bleed on Max his bicep is stopt from leaking as Phoebe used the bandana she used as a choker around her neck to wrap it on to him.
Who to blame for it all will most likely last them a whole night of arguments. With their phones dead they can neither call for a pick up.
"We could be home already if you'd be a nice brother and carry your sister you know."
"Hell no, you weight about a hundred kilo's I ain't carrying you."
"HEY I DO NOT!"
"DO YES!"
For anyone who remembers the thundermans
