Skyline Snowstorm por Billy Hager Por Flickr: 5 years ago today…A BNSF autorack train crosses Skyline Trestle on Mullan Pass near the Continental Divide just west of Helena, Montana. This was the first of the now annual “guy trips” out west, originally planned to shoot fall color, but resulted in two snowstorms in a week and subzero temperatures.

In August 1991, I made this image on Southern Pacific’s dime. For three days I was commissioned by Southern Pacific to photograph the famous 4449 with Daylight train working excursions between Redding and Mount Shasta.
