❝ I know I agreed to go see a scary movie - but is there any way I could bribe you into indulging my inner child and seeing Aladdin instead? ❞
STARTER CALL ! ! ! ! !
anyway i suck and lost all my threads on theresa, so please like this post if’d you like a starter from (and specify who for if needed)
andrcascotts:
“both, actually. my cousin scout lives here and i guess she has a step brother, but that doesn’t ACTUALLY count as family, not mine at least.” he shrugged, always so insensitive and tactless “and i kind of fucked up”
❛ Really? You’re Scout’s cousin? Huh. ❜ Scout and her family were quite a spectacle - she was her main rival for the title of offspring to the worst guy around. ❛ Let me guess - you got kicked out of somewhere, this is your community service, your parents are teaching you a lesson for scratching their Porsche... ❜
reagvns:
❛ just out … that’s not a crime is it ? i don’t even have a curfew. so, i wasn’t, technically, doing anything wrong. i like going on walks. sometimes. ❜
❛ I mean - I was more worried about you wandering around for a non-nefarious reason, but now..... I’m going to pretend I’m not suspicious. When I was your age, I thought eleven pm was risque. ❜
gardncr:
❛ Finally! Someone who understands what I’m all about. You’d be surprised how many useless yet interesting facts I know, thanks to all the coloring books I’ve acquired. I really am living the all-American girl dream. ❜
❛ I was a young lass once - sadly I can’t get away with kids menus unless I pull a white-mom and ask to speak to the manager. So, are you planning on majoring or minoring in coloring books? ❜
arizcnax:
“ i —- suppose i’m quite adorable, although it’s mostly associated with my tiny structure and my babbling situation, many use that adjective to describe me. now now — that is far from true, have you not looked in the mirror lately? you are one damn lovely lady and i’d be more than happy to buy you a drink and use a cheesy pick up line. ”
❛ You’ve got a myriad of qualities that I believe earn you the title of adorable. I’m also comfortable with using other adjectives, kind, likable. My brother would probably murder me for using such unimaginative words, but that’s why he’s the teacher. After that proposition, seems like charming would be apt. Hell yeah, buy me some coffee and win my heart with puns. ❜
lvkrrck:
He slides into the booth opposite her, wiping confectionary sugar dusted fingers against trousers. BLACK trousers … SHIT. He looks around, under the spell of the sort of tiredness that bleeds into HYPERACTIVITY. He sees faces he doesn’t quite RECOGNIZE, but doesn’t consider strangers. He supposes that’ll happen when you live in a place like this for a little too LONG. “ Memorable’s one way of putting it. You could just say CRAZY. Though then you’d have to include yourself. ” His head cants, weighing the pro’s and cons before offering a small shrug, the same KNOWING smile fixed into his expression. “ Seems fitting. DEATH and NIGHTTIME, sort of a match made in HEAVEN. ” He pauses, a beat passes. “ SORRY. I understand if you wanted, WANT to be alone. I wouldn’t normally, usually I’ve got uh, my SHIT more together, yeah ? More … CALM. You caught me at a BAD time. Or I MADE you catch me at a bad time. Can’t SLEEP. ”
❛ Yeah, I know who my people are. When everything goes to shit, I’ll be on the sidelines with the crazies, smokers and masturbators. ❜ Theresa wasn’t remotely interested in trying to out do her companion in the arena of those up late and unhinged. He was miles ahead of her - somehow going a million miles a second while barely crawling along. ❛ S’alright, I like the company. I’m a lonely person due to habit, instead of preference. ❜ The corners of her lips lift into a smile, a sentimental offering of understanding to her fellow patron. Theresa’s eyes, a deep rich brown like the soil of the earth, alternated between drowning in her coffee cup, and meeting his gaze. ❛ I’ll take your word on that - maybe we’ll chat again when you’ve got it all together. How long have you been going anyway? ❜
chvce:
she draws out a chuckle, the younger responding with a simple shake of his head. chace fishes out another fry out of the pile, this time dipping it in the nearby cup of ketchup. there was always the comfort of being able to be himself around his older sibling, though it was often followed by the negative of her knowing too much. more than he’d be willing to ever speak aloud.
❛ i bet she is ! keeping people alive … must be pretty damn stressful. not that you’d know. ❜
❛ You’re one to talk, I get to cut up corpses while you teach kids who probably just banged in the janitors closet Gatsby. ❜ Theresa chided her young brother lovingly, her lips quirking up into a lazy smile. Despite everything, Chace had wound up in a job that no longer risked his life. For that, she was grateful. ❛ I’m sure a lot of things are stressful for Ramona. ❜ She loved her brother too much to chastise him to the point of cruelty, but the years were dragging on - and he still kept the woman dangling. ❛ Job, wedding planning, having to share the same air as our father during dinners. I still don’t know how we haven’t keeled over after living with him. ❜
reagvns:
@thvause !!
❛ i had to hitchhike home last night in a burrito truck. it’s not as fun as it sounds. ❜
❛ I’ve got a worlds worth of follow up questions to this one, namely how your parents get away with this shit. But I’ll start easy - where were you so late? ❜
mcmillers:
“ fries are hands down the GREASIEST food to order from a diner. soaked in oil, fryed up… it’s like drinking grease. i mean, they taste heavenly, and i’ll still order myself some, but really. heart attack in a side dish. ”
❛ You enjoy the first ten or so, then you feel absolutely disgusting. But you’ve got a plate full of them, and you don’t want to be that person. So you cram the rest down, praying you can waddle home before your coma. That’s why I’m ordering a cup of coffee too - to stay healthy. ❜
ofiliana:
iliana couldn’t help the bubble of laughter from the girls words. “i was always too afraid to even try because of my dad- never had a sense of humor. my friends when i was younger on the other hand, were able to create masterpieces whenever they called up our neighbors.” she smiled at the memories. “i had to live vicariously through them and their stories.”
❛ Those were the days. And boy, I can relate to that, and then some. There should be a club for people with strict fathers. ❜ Strict was the most glowing term that Theresa could offer in order to describe her father. ❛ Do you work at a radio station or something? I’m curious to find out why those wild youths have targeted you. ❜
ramcnv:
❝ For sure if we SEE them, but I doubt there’s a hat in Sheffield he doesn’t already own. ❞ Her voice was bright, teasing, and she was legitimately happy to match it. As far as Ramona knew, she was spending time with her fiancè’s sister, all of them happy. Little did she know all the smiles except hers were forced, all the romance except hers feigned. For now, however, she was joyful just to spend more time with someone who loved Chace as much as she did. ❝ We could look for stuff for you too, you know. MY TREAT! ❞
Theresa shook her head slightly, a smile of complete sincerity staging a take over across her face. ❛ Oh Ramona, you’re too sweet. ❜ She wished she could see the other woman with another partner, one that was capable of returning the unwavering affection Ramona doled out to her and Chace. ❛ I suppose if I plan on not being the weird, old single aunt with twenty cats, I need some clothes to catch myself a man. That’s my polite paraphrasing from our old man. ❜ Ramona wasn’t related by blood, nor had she and Chace actually reached the aisle. But she had endured his company enough to have honorary family privileges.
hxlenamiller:
“ Do you HAVE a question, or are you just going to stare at me until I walk away? ”
❛ Well ma’am I, um, was just - hoping to get some advice. You have a very nice office...by the way. ❜
“i don’t think i’d be as annoyed by prank calls at work if the kids were actually clever. “ she said before quickly adding, “annoyed still, but at least entertained.”
❛ You’d happily be the Moe to their Bart if they were producing quality lines. ❜ Theresa smiled wryly, a smattering of laughter tumbling from her lips. ❛ Honestly, prank calling hasn’t been the same for me since my dad forced my brother and I to watch I know what you did. ❜
@ramcnv !!
❛ Here we go! ❜ Forcing in enthusiasm rarely had a positive outcome, and the strained smile pulled across her features only added more credence to the sentiment. Theresa wanted to be a pleasant during their outing at the store, to preserve the carefully crafted relationship Ramona and Chace had worked on for so long. ❛ Maybe you can pick up Chace some new pants or a fedora .❜
