I’m very excited for the weeks to come. I have been accepted into a 6 week long CNA program which will prepare me for the state exam to get my certification as a nursing assistant. It may not be the most high up medical job but it’s getting my foot in the door to work alongside RNs, physicians, and possibly PTs in the case I am able to find work at a PT clinic. I’ll also be able to work hands on with patients and learn the basics.
This program is Mo-Fri, 9am-3pm, for 6 weeks. At the end I do my clinical (40hrs) at a facility where I work hands on with patients. While I’m in this program, I will still be working full time at my current job and completing my current classes at my university. So in short, I’m basically working two full-time jobs plus some and I won’t have time to sleep but I’m so ready to get started!
Right after the completion of the course I’m going on vacation to NY to celebrate my little brother’s HS graduation. My sister, my brother and his family, and my friend are all coming up for this and I honestly can’t wait. It’s been years since we all have been up in NY at the same time.
Once I get back I’ll take the state exam and hopefully get employed as a CNA shortly after. Long term, I also want to become a certified personal trainer but I’m allowing myself a year to work on my own fitness, buy the books/training and study for that. I should have my Bachelor Degree around that time as well. Once I do graduate I want to take a year off school to work in clinics as a CNA and possibly as a personal trainer at a gym (we’ll see how that one goes), volunteer at PT clinics, and prep for Grad school. Then I’m apply to PT school and hopefully be on my way to following my dream of becoming a DPT!

You know what is the worst? Losing someone to something that you feel could have been prevented. Yes, death is death but there’s something different in the way you grieve over the loss of a loved one when it’s because of suicide, an overdose, a murder. There’s more to add to the list but these three are what I’ve had to come to terms with in my life.
I have lost two cousins to suicide. My friend came so close to saying goodbye to us but damn was she a fighter.
I lost a friend when I was in high school because he was beat so bad and left on the sidewalk to die.
I just lost my friend to a heroin overdose.
It doesn’t feel right. There’s just something in your bones that never shakes away. It lingers on you. What could have been, what might have been, what should have been. And it tears you fucking a part because what if you could have stopped it? What didn’t you do enough of to stop it?
I’ve lost uncles to cancer, to a heart attack, to an unknown illness. I’ve lost both my grandfathers and although their loss makes my heart heavy with missing them there was less... shame? guilt? We knew they were sick and we never lost hope that one day they would magically get better, but there wasn’t much we could do when a doctor says “you have two months to live”. Besides be there for them.
And that’s the thing with these so called ‘preventable deaths’, you don’t get to properly say goodbye.
I once heard that you die twice; once when you stop breathing and later when somebody says your name for the last time. Maybe I cant hold you anymore and maybe all I’ll have left of your speckled green eyes are photographs, but I will never stop saying your names and you will live on in the most fondest of memories of people waiting to embrace you again.
I'm so fucking sick of losing people. What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck. You were getting better. Why didn't you get fucking better.
me: what if instead of doing literally anything i just slept all the time
me: thats a sign of depression

me: ok we'll deal with that later but first we nap
How women prepare for first dates
Bonus: How men prepare for first dates:
Every time one of my friends goes on a Bumble date tbh.
Give your friend their name, phone number, address where you're meeting just in case they decide to murder you or hold you in a cellar.
Find out their blood type.

Did your parents buy your car or do they help with payments? How can u afford new
When was this asked and why didn’t I know about it? I pay for my car. I also pay for close to 99% of all my expenses. Insurance, phone, rent, car, groceries, school, etc. You name it, I pay it. My parents help with about 1/4 of my tuition each semester, asides that I’m on my own. I have a great job that pays well so I guess that explains it.
