Plea To An Unknown Author
Let me read your notebook I want to feel your words and read your mind Let me flip it’s pages and dare to slice the supple skin on the breakup letter draft you wrote for the girl with my middle name Let me see you blush Like I do when I let people read my writing because halfway through letting go you remember that awful sex poem in between the drugs and the anger and you can’t help but feel like you’re going to throw up Let me laugh But don’t take it personally it’s just that I’ve thought these words before and I’m not sure why or when or how but I’m convinced you stole them from the caverns in my mind to display on faded ivory with blue and black smudges Let me read your notebook The one you carry with you Leather bound and always open Writing hand twitching and twirling a pen As if any second you’ll find the words to say it The answer To all of this
UPDATE: I got to read his notebook. Didn't disappoint
