2-Ticket Taker is secretly afraid that Jester will one day see that he’s actually useless and pathetic as a shortclawed monster and will leave him..

3- Despite promising that he’ll stop his obsessive behaviour towards Jester he has a secret shrine dedicated to Jester. He has a ton of small keepsakes and stuff he’s nicked borrowed from Jester

(Ticket Taker approaches Jester, having his tail in his hands as he fidgets with it)

“Jester I-… I know it has been a.. while since the.. incident… and perhaps I was rude or cruel to not say this sooner but.. I am sorry. For everything. For trapping you. For locking you away. For my behaviour. For attacking the others. For betraying your trust by breaking your mask.”

“I was a coward for not saying this sooner but-.. well. I don’t really have a proper excuse. Pride? Fear? Just plain cowardice? I don’t know, but it’s been eating at me. I just couldn’t find the words. Every time I went to apologise the words got stuck. It genuinely felt as though my words were suffocating me.”

(He drops his tail, and averts his gaze)

*jester is currently dealing with a migraine but he glances towards his mate, looking him up and down. This is the one, yes. He wraps his arms around Ticket Taker tightly, nuzzling into his neck* I've forgiven you long ago Bil. I have already punished you for it. Believe me...I do understand why you did what you did. Bad things keep happening to me out of your control. The Ringmaster, the gunshot, Harlequin striking me. You went about it poorly, yes.. But it is alright.

*he strokes Ticket Taker's cheek with the back of his knuckle affectionately* I love you, my loyal sapphire.

(Ticket Taker leaned into his touch before speaking again)

“Jes… please. Answer me honestly. Did I… ever frighten you..? Back then..”

*he stopped before lowering his gaze slightly* I will be honest. Yes, at the point where you were not listening to reason and trying to bring me back into the mirror. I had given up and just accepted that I will never get out. *He takes his mate's hands and kisses them, even kissing the smaller claws* I am sorry for stabbing you in the neck with the needle though. It was the only way to get you to stop. Our daughter though..I think she still has nightmares of then.

(He kisses Jester’s claws in return, sighing quietly)

Huffing a small laugh Nix shook their head. "Yeah, you really couldn't. But I'm not complaining."

Being placed on the bed Nix felt the tired deeply, looking down at the bed before their eyes closed. Then Nix laid on the bed sighing. "Probably. But rest sounds so worth it." Their hand felt a little heavy as Nix lifted it for him to join.

I will never leave you behind again..I will be by your side..I promise you that. *He crawls into the bed with them and cuddles closer to them. He nuzzles their neck, kissing the mark gently* I love you Nixy. So much. Rest now dear one~ I'll be here when you wake.

Guiding his arm away from the tender wound around their torso Nix relaxed quickly. It's dark, and actually quiet. The lack of hospital antiseptic smell. "thank you." Nixs voice practically a whisper before they succumbed to sleep hard. They don't even move as an hour passes, or when eventually Harlequin picks them up again to sneak them back out to return Nix to the Hospital.

*he watches them sleep before falling asleep himself. As if expected, he woke up within the hour. It was time to take them back.. Didn't want to raise suspicion after all. He slid out of his bed and scooped them into his arms. He looked around making sure no one was looking or anyone was around before he took his leave from his tent trying to rush through the secret path to leave the circus grounds.*

(Ticket Taker had left his tent a while ago, just to walk around the circus grounds. And when he had heard a sound he went to investigate of course- finding Harlequin carrying an unconscious human.)

“Harlequin… what’s all this? Why do you have a human in your arms?”
