Tails of the Dark Circus

Murders and Mysteries Chapter one

It was sunny the love of his life was laying right beside him on the picnic blanket in the meadow. The sun painted her in an ethereal glow. Her hair a golden brown, her eyes a joyous green that seemed like something ancient and mythic just barely stirred deep within but none of that compared to her smile or her laugh a melodic tone of giggles

“ you are staring again “ she said with a smile

“ yeah well I think it’s natural to stare at my beautiful fiancé “

She laughed softly as she lifted herself closer and kissed him and Kay knew that he could stay there for eternity as they broke away he looked into her eyes again and realized that now they held such a melancholy that it hurt

“ Gwen what’s wrong? “

“ Kay my dearest love, you need to wake up your alarm is going off “

Kay woke up the feeling of falling having fully woken him up out of his dream and as he looked around his room with just him in it reality hit him. Gwendolyn Charnel his fiancé and Alice grimsburrow there best friend had disappeared over 6 years ago and the only trace of either of them was 4 liters of Alice’s blood and 1 of Gwen’s, Gwen’s headband and scraps of fabric from both of their clothes. Kay wanted to cry.

“ is the only place I will ever see you again my dreams pumpkin? “ Kay sighs and with that he gets up and goes about his day it’s only as he makes breakfast that he gets a call from Lorraine and Kay lets out a deep sigh as he answers the phone

“ sigh, hey Lorri. “

“ … you okay? Did you have another one of those dreams again? “

“ yeah, I am making breakfast do you want me to make you something for breakfast or lunch today? “

“ Lunch please. Oh hey I heard that there is a carnival coming to town soon and that they are setting up a permanent location maybe we can go there after work to help take your mind off of things. “

“ I don’t know Lorri it just doesn’t feel right “

“ Kay do you really think that Gwendolyn would want you to be sad especially after all this time? And I get that you don’t feel attracted to most folks in that way so I am not going to tell you that you need to put yourself out there again but like you get the sentiment right. “

“ …. Yeah, Sigh yeah you are right Lorri. Are you outside? “ Kay asked as he finished packing up the food

“ yup got the patrol car and just waiting on you and lunch “

Because I can’t draw I made the characters in Gacha life 2

This are the humans in their family groups

And here are the ships

And the only reason why there marks are black in the pictures is because I am still working on there designs and this is kinda subject to change as deciphering people in dreams is a weird process when you can’t remember faces

It’s been a while I learned to be more confident in my drawing and writing skills so I am going to try to pick this story back up again

So some of the characters are going to be going through redesign mostly the aliens and their species as I don’t really like how they look anymore

Chapter 2

( fare warning I am dyslexic so please be nice) Ace was making sure everything was in its proper place and that the spacecraft was in proper working order when the bridge computer alerted him to a message from the counsel manager.

Ace picked up the call “ hello counsel manager comet every thing is all most ready for the rescue mission to earth all that is needed now is for my team to get back with the backup equipment “ as soon as ace finish saying that the bridge door opened up to reveal zen coming in to report “ hey ace everything is ready and all we are waiting for is the signal to go - oh and hey comet how is my baby sis doing?” On the holo-screen comet sighed “ hello zen, ace you are all clear to take of please be safe and hurry it has been a week since we lost contact with scholar storm “

Back on the island a large electrical storm was brewing

It had been about a week since storm crash landed on the island and they found that aside from a large gash and a bit of blood loss storm was ok his translator had been damaged slightly but he could understand what they were saying but couldn’t speak in a language that they understood mostly they could understand that the purring was good, growling was a warning, and that the colors that glowed on his skin meant something but they would need better communication to fully understand what. The large alien purred as the movie continued he was almost curled up around Luna who had decided that despite his massive size the alien was not a threat and instead was far more scared of them than anything.

(Re)Introducing grim the grumpy medic of the team he is the second in command and despite his grumpy nature he really cares about his teammates even if he thinks that they are idiots sometimes

So one thing that is keeping me from writing down more of heart full of stars is that I am stuck making floor plans for the buildings and spaceship ( the one that is mostly still intact)

I had this weird dream, so I thought I would share it but also flesh it out a bit more

You wake up the The notifications alerting you to what needs to be done you worked at a resort. Most of it was fully automated so at max it needed a skeleton crew of ten people

Introducing Mrs ivailo the wife of Cory and mother of Oliver and Valerie

Introducing comet she is the counsel manager for the Galatea spacecraft which is trying to decipher the native languages and establish communication with earth storm is a scout for this and his ship got destroyed in a meteor shower and now comet is sending in the spaceship kryptoria

As Elise Blackmore woke up to the sound of her alarm telling her of all the things she had to do to day. The top of the list was a request from Corey to help repair some of the things in the haunted house that his son Oliver ran and while it is quite unusual for a 10-year-old to be running a haunted house, the fact that it was almost entirely automated, and could be controlled from a control room in the direct center meant that even a five-year-old could do it let alone a 10-year-old with a pension for mischief and a love of scaring people. The reason for the repair was listed as one of the moving walls got stuck along with the fact that some of the decorations needed a new coat of paint.  When Elise got to the haunted house, Oliver was just coming out of the building. He waved to Elise and said I’m going to go looking for that meteorite that crashed down this morning and just like that, he was running off into the jungle. Shortly thereafter, Oliver‘s father Corey ivailo was guiding Elise through the haunted house to the sliding wall that was stuck halfway through its motion. The power to the wall had already been cut, which meant it should have slid back into with the wall in which it was housed, when hiding as part of fire safety after all, despite this haunted house being one of the attractions, it was also used as an actual hotel even if by special appointment only by ghost film Crew and the occasional engineering school that wanted to study the mechanisms used 

Oliver waved to Elise and told her that he was going to be looking for the meteorite that had crashed down on their island, while his dad and Elise were fixing up the current stuck wall  and he had already told Luna that he was going to be going out and looking for the meteorite. He had packed a sandwich and some water, and ran down off into the jungle about an hour later into his walk, he saw a blue glow, and getting closer he saw metal and the ruined trail of the meteorite but instead of a rock, it was metal carved with lines of blue light and then he realized it was a spaceship walking around it. He got to the bridge and saw that there. Was someone still inside of it a big someone, but they didn’t look awake and they looked hurt . Oliver knew that he couldn’t get the 7 foot person back on his own so he called his dad and Elise, Luna, and granny opal after all his dad and Elise would be able to get the forklift if nothing else to help move this guy and granny opal as the island doctor would want to take a look at this guy. If he is actually injured and even if granny Opal was fierce in her own way, Luna as head of security would need to be told anyway.

 Storm heard a voice it sounded like a little kid. He had just enough strength to lift his head and open his eyes to look there. He saw a really small person and it sounded like they were talking to someone, but there wasn’t anyone there he figured that the kid must’ve had a communication device of some sort, but just as he thought that he blacked out again and when he woke up, he heard more voices He realized that he was on something soft, and he was laying down. When he tried to get up the voices stopped And he managed to open his eyes, and even though the lights were really bright, and they hurt, he still managed to see a little And what he saw was five people all of them smaller than him And from what he could hear through the translator was that he was being urged to lay back down by a small, elderly woman with curly brown hair that was starting to gray from one of the others the girl with long white hair and space buns with icy blue and yellow eyes said granny don’t get too close to them. We don’t know if they’re dangerous or not the elderly woman apparently named granny turned to the girl and said now Luna Skinner, this boy is hurt. He looks like he’ll fall back into unconsciousness if he sits up too fast. Storm processed the girls name Luna. He thought it was beautiful. And that was about the last thought he had before falling back unconscious.

So one thing that I realized that I should probably clarify is the personality traits of at least the aliens

Storm is calm and levelheaded if not a little nervous about new surroundings sweet boy would rather be in a lab or library than fieldwork

Ace is a sweet sunshine himbo

Zen is a flirt if not a little bit arrogant but definitely mischievous

Fox is cunning and dangerous but also mischievous as well

Grim is a grumpy boy smart and loyal to his friends but grumpy he is also the team medic

The island resort has been closed for a couple days because of storm season with only the skeleton crew left on the island here they are 

The aliens that crashed for the world building on their species, it’s divided up into two big groups. Their species is called the Is’ar The vatea or the recordkeepers and scholars while the vasil are the Warriors all members of their species are some variation of blue, and they have glowing marks that can indicate emotion and change color accordingly, but they all have one color that they tend to stick to, and it can indicate their personality as well
