Recreating vintage pinups has been one of my favorite creative outlets for years. I’ve always been drawn to the charm, confidence, and artistry of that era 🖤 This Peter Driben remake is just one of many tributes I’ve created in honor of his iconic work. He was known for his bold, playful, and cheeky illustrations of glamorous women which is exactly why I love bringing them to life. Making the outfits and shooting them against those vibrant backdrops is half the fun!

Another Peter Driben Pinup💋🖤

I found this dress on Amazon, cut the sleeves off and sewed on new ones along with the red ruffles ❤️ The bow, headband, and waist band were all made out of fabric I had lying around from a previous shoot. (The bow would not stay put for the life of me, I ended up hot gluing it to my dress during the shoot) The heels are an old pair I’ve had in my closet for years that I attached little black broaches to👠 Unfortunately I didn’t really get to film too much of the process since I literally made most everything the same day I shot it😅 (I’m limited on time these days) What’s been your fav pinup so far??

Took a break for a bit but finally had a chance to recreate this Peter Driben pinup ❤️ Typically I favor Gil Elvgrens, but i’m starting to have more fun with Driben pinups because of the bold colors 💛💚💙 First time sewing a bikini from scratch and boy was it the worst bikini ever 🤣 …still looked good enough for pics though. The ring I hand molded using polymer clay and the headband was made using foam 🙃 TiffanyRecreates

Thought I would try out some red hair 👩🏼‍🦰🍀 so “Bare Essentials” by Gil Elvgren seemed appropriate 🌿 I don’t always plan on just remaking his work but for some reason the pinups I pick and love always end up being his 🤷🏼‍♀️ This one required more editing than anything else which is why I didn’t show much of the process. All the plants I hand drew in photoshop along with the butterfly 🦋 I would have loved to include a real parrot friend but sadly I had to resort to a stock photo that I purchased. I love recreating Peter Driben pinups. The colors are bright and bold and the setup is usually a bit more simple allowing me to focus on wardrobe and hair/makeup. Everytime I choose a pinup, I say to myself “ohhh this one is going to be easy!” ….and then it’s not 🤦🏼‍♀️ Poses will appear simple but then aren’t even humanely possible, outfits won’t fit like the picture no matter what I do 😅 it happens! 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I still love attempting them and seeing what I come up with.

Years ago I re-created this Gil Elvgren pinup but wasn’t happy with it so I never used it. It was cute but just didn’t resemble the original. My hair was blonde, the makeup wasn’t right, so many things. I had the barstool already painted and collecting dust in my garage so I decided to try again! I typically color my hair for each one, but I had just gone blonder with my hair and was afraid the brown may become permanent so I bought this (horrible) wig. I had styled wigs for costume shoots for years so I put some old skills to use and gave this thing a cut and style✂️ ⁣Follow @tiffanyrecreates

I’ve always loved pinups and recreating them has been a fun way to get creative 🎨 I’m happiest when I’m creating 😃 whether it be baking fancy cookies, refurbishing old furniture, or photography 📸 I was inspired to recreate this #FritzWillis pinup when I came across this purple suit💜 I decided to hand paint the textured backdrop and shells instead of photoshopping it this time 💁🏼‍♀️ Although this pinup was fun and not the most difficult one to shoot, it’s the next one i’m working on that I am soooo excited for!😃 It took me a really long time to find the perfect props for it so I will be working on those soon! 💋🐚 See more from this shoot here
